Happy Leap Day!

Its Friday!!! Sweeeeet. So of course I have to give you a little bit of randomness.

Mr. Cheeky comes home tonight and is going to be home for a week - woot!

My fashion designer/buyer (aka Mommy K's hubby) is ready for me to come to Charleston so we can go shopping. He loves to spend my money. But I have to admit, the things he picks out for me are so very FAB!

Right now the kitties are playing in the hallway outside my door and Kitty Girl is whoppin up on Sylvester's head! You go girl!

Yesterday I heard from a long lost friend on Classmates. He was older than me and graduated 4 years before I did. But he was hilarious (and I suspect he still is). It took me a while to figure out who it was because I didn't know him by his formal name - I knew him by his nickname.

I have been running around a lot this week. Things just sort of seemed out of control a little bit. I am glad its over.

I think tonight I need me some WANGS and Trivia - oh yes, I do.

The countdown has begun - its official - 18 days until Bon Jovi Baby!!!

That's it - that is all I got this morning. Hope ya'll have a GREAT weekend!

Randomness

Why is it that every time Mr. Cheeky either plans to work from home or just plain stay home with me the kids always end up not going to school or go on a delay? Yesterday, I wake up and the TV is going and I walk downstairs to find teenage daughter. Yep, it was an unexpected 2 hour delay - for fog! Which means man child didn't leave the house until almost 11. So there went our morning LOL.

Actually it was a great morning and afternoon too. We went to lunch, ran some errands and just generally just spent the day together. It was nice. Plus it was in the upper 30's so it almost felt like spring!

OH speaking of spring - our plans for spring break have been altered. We were supposed to go see Mickey in Orlando and meet Mr. Cheeky there but his travel schedule has become a little screwy and he may not be able to join us. So after much discussion we have decided that me and the kids are going to head to NC to visit family and Charleston, SC to visit friends. It will be much warmer than here so its cool. We will plan another family vacation when Mr. Cheeky's travel gets under control.

Over the weekend we discovered the updated version of the game Life. It's the electronic version and we have played it almost everyday since we bought it. Its a good family game and pretty easy to do. Its nice that manchild is old enough to start really enjoying board games with us.

I have been awake since Mr. Cheeky left at O'dark thirty again this morning (that would be 3:30am for those of you that don't speak Cheeky). I couldn't go back to sleep after he left so I see a nap in my future.

Cheeky who is singing.....

I couldn't sleep at all last night
Just a-thinkin' 'bout you
Baby, things weren't right

'Cause I was
Tossin' and turnin', turnin' and tossin'
Tossin' and turnin', tossin' and turnin' all night

I kicked the blankets on the floor
Turned my pillow upside down
I never felt this way before

'Cause I was
Tossin' and turnin', turnin' and tossin'
Tossin' and turnin', tossin' and turnin' all night

Jumped out of bed, turned on the lights
Pulled down the shade, went to the kitchen for a bite
Rolled up the shade, turned down the lights
I jumped back in the bed, was the middle of the night

The clock downstairs was strikin' three
Couldn't get you off my mind
I heard the milkman on the street

'Cause I was
Tossin' and turnin', turnin' and tossin'
Tossin' and turnin', tossin' and turnin' all night

Jumped out of bed, turned on the lights
Pulled down the shade, went to the kitchen for a bite
Rolled up the shade, turned down the lights
Jumped back in the bed, was the middle of the night

The clock downstairs was strikin' three
Couldn't get you off my mind
I heard the milkman on the street

'Cause I was
Tossin' and turnin', turnin' and tossin'
Tossin' and turnin', tossin' and turnin' all night

Tossin' and turnin'
Turnin' and tossin'
Tossin' and turnin'
Turnin' and tossin'.....

EMPLOYED!!! and Weekend Update

No no, not me. Nope, I am in retirement. Teenage daughter on the other hand, is now earning her keep. Sweeeeeeet!

Friday was a good day in the frozen tundra. My pedicure was absolutely divine! Poor girl really earned her money on that one I have to say. I left her a nice tip. While there, I decided to get a manicure while I was at it. Mr. Cheeky came home and we had a really nice evening.

Saturday - I went to a card making thing and Mr. Cheeky took man child to hockey. Teenage daughter got a job and started that night. Sweeeeeeeeet! So while Teenage daughter was working her little fingers to the bone, Mr. Cheeky, manchild and I went to the movies and saw The Spiderwick Chronicles. I really enjoyed it. Much better than the Golden Compass (the book was wonderful the movie not so good).

Sunday - Manchild had a hockey game and played great. Then it was off to Costco to get some things for the week. Then in the evening - it was DEXTER!!

This is a short little post because Mr. Cheeky took the day OFF! to spend with me since he is traveling again tomorrow. So I will be around sparingly today but I will catch up with you tomorrow if I miss you today.

Random Friday

Ok so here we go with a little randomness for Friday.

FINALLY - I get Dexter on disc (sounds kinda dirty doesn't it? hehe) today so I can see the final two episodes of the season. Its been a hard two days waiting for that thing to come in - I mean I was breakin out in sweats and convulsions. I will be watching the mailbox like a hawk ya'll.

Mr. Cheeky is finally coming home today - Woot! He has been gone since last Friday. Seems longer than usual - I guess because he wasn't here over the weekend and I was dealing with sick kids. Unfortunately, it will only be for a few days as he has to travel back down next week.

It has sort of been a boring week. Not that I need any huge excitement or anything. I just think I need some warmth and sunshine. I will be getting it in a few weeks but not soon enough if you ask me.

I need to run a few errands today in preperation for Mr. Cheeky coming home. Need to get some wine to have with our honkers tonight. Yes, I don't care if its zero outside, I am grillin honkers - capish?

I found out yesterday that one of my friend's from Charleston (the German one that I pink puffy heart) is going to be here in 3 weeks! She will be here for a week for training. She is staying fairly close so I get to hang out with her in the evenings. I don't have the details just yet but I am excited. Mr. Cheeky is sad he will be traveling that week - he hearts my German friends too.

Kitty girl has been more affectionate lately. She has let me pet her for more than 5 seconds on several occasions this week and every time I walk by her she lifts her head to give me a kiss. For her - this is HUGE! We have had her over 2 years and this is the most affection she has shown at one time. I knew she loved me.

Today is the big day ya'll. Today, after 8 loooooong months - I am finally going to go get a pedicure. There is still a tiny mark where Ted left his calling card and its still tender at times but I can't take it anymore - I must have pretty tootsies. I sorta feel sorry for the girl that has to do it though, she has her work cut out for her. I have never been this long without a pedicure. I am almost embarrassed.

This is all I have for today, have to get up and get moving.....I need a little music to get me goin....hmmmm hmmm some Abba perhaps.

Now listen, ya'll have to watch this seriously just watch it. Take the few minutes out of your day and watch it. It has so many references to Abba songs (not just when they sing - 90% of the dialog is lyrics from Abba songs). I find it hilarious. But then again I do heart me some Abba. I think its pretty funny. As a matter of fact I need to watch it again because there are subtle references throughout the skit.

Enjoy! and have a GREAT weekend!

Seriously, there was never a question really.....

Your Dominant Intelligence is Musical Intelligence

Every part of your life has a beat, and you're often tapping your fingers or toes.

You enjoy sounds of all types, but you also find sound can distract you at the wrong time.

You are probably a gifted musician of some sort - even if you haven't realized it.

Also a music lover, you tend to appreciate artists of all kinds.

You would make a great musician, disc jockey, singer, or composer.

I've been a bad bad girl.....

OK I haven't really but for some reason I woke up channeling my inner Fiona Apple and this song is stuck in my head.

OK I professed my love for Dexter in the last post right? Well, I can't believe I have done this to myself......I have watched ALL but the last two episodes of the first season. The ONLY reason I didn't watch the last two is because I have to get the disc from netflix. For whatever reason they won't show the last two on watch instantly. But I can wait a day or so. That's not the problem. I mean I might go into convulsions and start foaming at the mouth but I can wait a few days. The problem is.....I now have to WAIT some unknown length of time for season 2 on disc. Wait?! I have to wait?! I am hooked - don't make me wait. I guess one good thing is that I can at least now watch them on Sunday nights and try to catch little things that I am sure are there but I just missed the first time around. I hope that will hold me over.

The money fairy was looking out for me yesterday. I was making a get well card and needed my white gel pen. I couldn't find it. I knew where I left it but in this house that doesn't mean much. Just cause you leave it somewhere doesn't mean its going to be there when you go looking for it. Both Teenage Daughter and I looked for it for over a day (not constantly but you know what I mean). I really needed it to finish this card so I could mail it so I decided yesterday afternoon that I would just go buy another one. Which meant - a trip to Archiver's. I never leave that store with just one small item. Never. Its just not possible. So as I was putting on my gloves and getting my keys to warm the car I walked over to the kitchen and something caught my eye. In the cushion on the table chair. Right up next to the back where its not easiy seen. It was my pen!!!! Woot!! Seriously, why do I get so excited over little stuff like that? So, I didn't have to go out in the freezing cold just to get a pen (but I would have) and eventually spend more money than I should. See, I saved money here. I think that deserves a treat - like a trip to Archiver's this week (bwhahah I crack myself up).

OK Fiona is outta my head now - whew!

Cheeky - who is gonna sing a little Sister Hazel - well cause I can and I like it. Sing with me. Just hit play, turn it up and let it go!

Finally I figured out
But it took a long long time
And now there's a turnabout
Maybe cause I'm trying
There's been times, I'm so confused
All my roads
Well they lead to you?
I just can't turn
And walk away

It's hard to say what it is I see in you
Wonder if I'll always be with you
Words can't say, I can't do
Enough to prove it's all for you

And I thought I'd seen it all
Cause it's been a long long time
Oh but then we'll trip and fall
Wondering if I'm blind
There's been times
I'm so confused
All my roads
Well they lead me to you?
I just can't turn
And walk away

It's hard to say what it is I see in you
Wonder if I'll always be with you
But words can't say, I can't do
Enough to prove it's all for you

Rain comes pouring down
(Pouring down)
Falling from blue skies
(Falling from blue skies)
Words without a sound
Coming from your eyes

Finally I figured out
But it took a long long time
And now there's a turnabout
Maybe cause I'm trying
There's been times
I'm so confused
All my roads
Well they lead to you?
I just can't turn
And walk away

It's hard to say what it is I see in you
Wonder if I'll always be with you
But words can't say, I can't do
Enough to prove it's all for you

It's hard to say what it is I see in you
Wonder if I'll always be with you
But words can't say, I can't do
Enough to prove it's all for you

It's hard to say,
Yea it's hard to say,
It's all for you

I get my house back

Finally, the kids are going BACK to school. They are both still hacking like they have smoked for 20 years but there is no fever. I spent every day last week with a fevery (is that a word? it is now) kid. I need some normalcy again. Mr. Cheeky and I have escaped the terrorists clutches! Wooohooo!!!!

Yesterday was a holiday so I didn't post - did ya miss me? I got around to some blogs yesterday but I have some catching up to do today. So no, I haven't fogotten about you.

Over the weekend, I was reminded of some really GREAT songs that I haven't heard in a really long time so I will be singing those to you in the near future. I made a list. I am efficient like that.

I also discovered Dexter. I started watching it on Netflix and I am HOOKED! Yes, I know it comes on CBS on Sunday nights but I want to see them NOW. I am totally HOOKED!

I know, this is a sad little post but the kids are on a two hour delay so they are still here. I promise, tomorrow will be better.

He ate one ya'll!

OK so yesterday was the day of mushy gushy love stuff. Hubs and I usually get each other a little something. It doesn't have to be big. I always get something for the kids (a tradition I learned from my daddy).

This year, because I am the mom extrodinaire, the kids got tickets to go see Bon Jovi (and Daughtry) with me and Katie next month. Needless to say - they were quite excited.

Mr. Cheeky got me a square valentine plate (you know the plastic $2 kind from Target?). I Love it! Yes, its cheap. Yes, its cheesey, but we have this little joke running and now getting a plate like this is tradition. I also have free reign on shopping for crafty stuff. OK OK not completely free reign but he stopped to get me a gift certificate and the store was closed due to a power outtage. So, he said just go shopping. I love it when he does that.

Manchild got me a new nighty shirt (which I wanted and needed cause mine are wearing thin).

Yesterday, manchild and I decided to make some heart shaped mini cakes. Now see, I love to bake but Mr. Cheeky just is not into sweets. And I have a hard time justifying eating a whole cake. Not at one sitting mind you but you know over time. You eat the last piece and then realize you ate the whole darn thing.....so I usually don't bake.

Well these were good. Strawberry cake with cream cheese icing. AND...after the fantabulous dinner that I made.....my man...Mr. Cheeky....ate one! (Now that's a valentine for ya...hehee). He even said they were really good and he might just eat one for breakfast LOL.

Terrorist update - furthermore known as the the Puny Report.....

Manchild is still being attacked at full force. He is in my bed watching cartoons as I type this morning. Teenage daughter, while fever free for two whole days, is still hacking pretty hard and its sounds awful.

Mr. Cheeky left at O'dark thirty this morning to travel again - for a week - again. So unless the terrorist is hiding behind a lung or something he may escape this horridness.

I am in full swing preventative mode.

Hope ya'll have a good weekend!

Will you be my Valentine? AND The Terror Continues....

So its the day of hearts and flowers and mushy gushy love stuff. Mr. Cheeky has surprised me by working from home today so we can spend some time together before he travels tomorrow. I am making him one of his favorite meals for dinner. Its just gonna be a love fest up in here! Well as much as it can be because.......

Now for the second half of the title:

The terrorist has finally loosened his grip on teenage daughter. Not completely but at least the fever is at bay. She is still hacking like a 20 year smoker but at least she is on the upswing. BUT the terrorist has moved on....to the manchild. He came home from school fine. Within an hour he had a 100.2 temp. As I type, he is in MY bed burning up with fever and shivering under the covers. We didn't take his temp, Mr. Cheeky just got up and got him meds and said here drink this. Manchild also has the hack. So he will be at home from school the rest of the week if it is anything like what teenage daughter has. The fever will be here for a few days. I am going to call his teacher and go pick up his Valentine goodies today - I hate that he is going to miss the party.

Shell - we might need that lysol bomb now......

Cheeky who was gonna sing - I'm burnin I'm burnin I'm burnin for you....decided to get her mind off the terrorist and sing some mushy gushy love stuff for ya....Now you MUST hit play and you MUST sing along - and you KNOW you want to....so this my internets - is my gift to you.....enjoy!

Love, exciting and new,
Come aboard.
We're expecting you.
Love, life's sweetest reward.
Let it flow,
it floats back to you.

The Love Boat
soon will be making another run.
The Love Boat promises something for everyone.
Set a course for adventure,
Your mind on a new romance.

Love won't hurt anymore
It's an open smile on a friendly shore.

It's Looooove!
Welcome aboard - It's Looooove!

Hostage Crisis Day 4

Dateline: Chez Cheeky

The crud has continued to keep teenage daughter hostage but it looks like he is starting to get worn down. Hostage negotiators (meds) have been attacking him non-stop. We even called in the the big guns....the Z pack!

Reports from the scene are that the hostage negotiators are settled in for the long haul and are giving 110%. The terrorist has not been properly identified so authorities are having to try the assault on multiple fronts (cough syrup, tylenol, motrin, nyquil, z-pack - not all at the same time mind you). We do know that we are NOT dealing with strep or influenza. We could be dealing with a light case of bacterial pneumonia (again not sure the x-rays were not clear and are being sent to be read by the radiologist) which is why we called in the Z pack.

Being the trooper that she is, teenage daughter wants to try half a day of school today. She is going to go in late after the negotiators have changed shifts and the new group take effect. She at least wants to get her work so she doesn't get too far behind.

Other members of Chez Cheeky are being careful not to fall victim of the terrorists tactics. So far, they have been sucessful.

We interrupt this regularly scheduled post...

To bring you Breaking News.......
Dateline: Chez Cheeky

The crud has forced entry into the residence of Cheeky and her family and has taken the teenage daughter hostage. She has had a fever since Sunday afternoon. It broke for a while. She went to school (I told her to just stay home but she wanted to go - that is a sign of sickness right there - I should have picked up on it). I did end up picking her up late morning yesterday. She had fever, she hacked and coughed all day.

This morning she is literally crawling up the steps because she can't breathe (not ER can't breathe but not good either). Checked again, the fever is back at 102 (its been hovering there for a while - when the meds are in it drops but comes back as soon as the meds start to whimp out).

Anyway. Docs office opens at 8. We will be there waiting for them. I will update with more when we get back. Where is Osmosis Jones when you need him?

Obviously, this is not what today's post was going to be about - that has been postponed until a later date.

Update #1 Doc appt at 10:20 - we are on the cancellation list so if someone cancels we will be in earlier. Teenage Daughter tells me at the time she left yesterday (which was around 10:30) 80 people had already gone home sick - so yeah something is going around .....wanna take bets that I am gonna get it?

The things you remember

Isn't it funny the things that you remember from when you were a kid? Yesterday, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was on HBO Family. So, we decided to watch it. Now I have seen this movie hundreds of times. But this time, I was reminded of the very first time I saw it.

I was young, maybe 7ish, and I was staying with my Granny in Lincolnton. I can't remember why I was staying there other that its one of the times I remember staying the night, actually I think it was a couple nights - yes, yes it was. And I remember it being warm so it was either the spring or early summer. I remember that my sister wasn't there. It was just me and Granny. And she had cable. We didn't have cable at that time at my house. (I also remember watching a black and white movie with Bob Hope too but that is a different story)

Granny had just made me a big tall glass of chocolate milk and I sat down to watch Willy Wonka. I remember it like it was yesterday. I instantly fell in love with this movie.

So yesterday as I was watching I remembered Granny's house, the cuckoo clock on the wall by the door, the light coming in the window. The old black and white pictures she had in the room. The sofa and chairs. But as I was remembering all these wonderful things, I also remembered one of the most terrifiying times of my life. That.damn.monkey. Yes, I said damn.monkey. (now right about now as my Mom and Dad are reading this they are laughing - cause they know exactly what I am talking about).

See this thing....

Creeps me right the crap out. My Granny had one of these horrible things and she had to hide it when I came over. But my sister ALWAYS found it and proceeded to torture me with this stupid thing until I was screaming and crying and in hysterics. Oh how they would laugh until Granny would scold them all and put it away again.

Even Wikipedia says this thing is scary:

A Cymbal-banging monkey toy is a mechanical depiction of a monkey holding a cymbal in each hand. When activated it repeatedly bangs its cymbals together and, in some cases, bobs its head. There are both traditional wind-up versions as well as updated battery-operated cymbal-banging monkeys. They are often created with red rings painted around their wide-open eyes, creating an appearance many find creepy and disturbing, perhaps explaining their many appearances in horror/scifi media.

See....did you read that? CREEPY and DISTURBING!! That horrible thing is just pure evil!

Cheeky who says my revenge for these deeds will be sweet one day but right now needs to rid her mind of this horrible creature and relax so I am gonna sing a little tune from Willy Wonka.....

Hold your breath
Make a wish
Count to three

Come with me
And you'll be
In a world of
Pure imagination
Take a look
And you'll see
Into your imagination

We'll begin
With a spin
Traveling in
The world of my creation
What we'll see
Will defy
Explanation

If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Wanta change the world?
There's nothing
To it

There is no
Life I know
To compare with
Pure imagination
Living there
You'll be free
If you truly wish to be

If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Wanta change the world?
There's nothing
To it

There is no
Life I know
To compare with
Pure imagination
Living there
You'll be free
If you truly
Wish to be

Death(almost) by Porkchop

The events in this post are true. They occured on the evening of Feb. 6th, 2008. I was too traumatized to talk about it yesterday. Here is my story:

Dateline: Chez Cheeky

I had prepared a delicious meal. Steamed carrots and cauliflower with lemon butter (just a touch), roasted asparagus (with olive oil, garlic, and again a little lemon), and grilled porkchops with the bone - just a wee little bit of charring on the edge but a little is ok (hey... shut up I am not, now nor have I ever been a grill master - that is Mr. Cheeky's job mmmkay?).

I was expecting Mr. Cheeky to be home early and so the meal was prepped and ready. I waited. I waited. I waited. The meal was getting cold so I decided I was just going to go ahead and eat while it was hot. It was yummy.

Mr. Cheeky gets home later and is sitting down to enjoy his meal. I had been downstairs and came up to chat with him while he ate. There before me on the plate was one of the extra chops calling my name. So, I decided to have just a weeeeee little bit from the sweet spot (you know, the little piece of meat beside the bone - one side is bigger than the other - the sweet spot is the small side....oh just go look at a chop then you will know what I am talking about - and it is the sweet spot). So I pulled it off the bone and proceeded to enjoy this porkly goodness.

Then, it happened. I breathed. And the smallest little piece of the charred edge decided to go on a little vacation... down my windpipe. I immediately began coughing. And coughing. And coughing. I couldn't breathe in much because if I did it would go further down.

Mr. Cheeky: Are you choking?
Cheeky: Coughing and shaking my head yes cause I can't talk
Mr. Cheeky: Do I need to come do the heimlich on you?
Cheeky: Coughing and shaking my head no cause cause that wasn't going to help. And I really didn't need anyone thrusting their fist into me from behind while I am trying to cough.

So I continued to hack and hack and hack. It was just a tiny little piece that was stuck to my wind pipe. I hacked and hacked for about 10 minutes and even folded myself over the stool so gravity could help. And then the little piece of char finally decided that it was too windy and noisey in that location to have a proper vacation and decided to vacation some where else.

I just knew that had I not managed to get it out my tombstone would have read:

Here lies Cheeky - Death by Porkchop!

You're Not Exactly a Hippie...

While you're not a hippie, you've got the spirit of one.

You may not buy into hippie fashions, music, or heavy drug use.
But at heart, you are a free spirit and suspicious of the status quo.

Just a few random things

Things have been a little slow lately so let me give you a few random tidbits.

*Do you ever have some of the funkiest dreams that make absolutely no sense but when you wake up you realize that you are exactly where you are supposed to be?

*I think I am fighting off a cold or something. I have been really tired and feel a little icky when I wake up. I am sure it will pass I just don't want it to turn into a full on cold ya know?

*V-day cards are done! Addressed! and Stamped! I will be mailing them on Saturday or Monday depending on how far away you live. I don't want them getting there too soon.

*I have found my St. Patty's Day design. Very cute. Very labor intensive. Lots of measuring. Rulers are not my friends. I worked most of the day yesterday and only got 6 totally completed. Well, except for some bling but I am not sure what I want to do yet so.....that will come later.

*I adore sending out cards to my internets - but its starting to get a little pricey. I didn't care so much when I was working but I have sent out two mailings while in retirement and I finally realized how much it costs. Not sure what to do about that yet. I don't want to stop doing them. I like it. My internets like it (I think). Suggestions?

*So this weekend manchild wanted to watch Terminator 3. I ordered it from Netflix and it was here on Friday. We watched it Saturday. MONDAY it was on FX. Go figure.

*I haven't been walking like I should - fuss at me if you don't see the tracker moving mmmmmkay?

*Conversations with Mr. Cheeky while watching a hockey game on TV Sunday before the SuperBowl:

Cheeky: Are they gonna fight?
Mr. Cheeky: Yes
Cheeky: More sports should allow fighting
Mr. Cheeky: Yeah, like bowling

Cheeky who isn't gonna sing this morning because I have to hit the little publish button before 8:15 otherwise Katie will not be pleased and well we must keep Katie happy ya know (*snort*).

If we have 50 candidates to choose from for the Miss America contest then why do we only have 2 to choose from for President of the United States??

My Pick as Winner.....

As far as I am concerned - THIS is the big winner of the night....go ahead - watch it - I will wait.

That was the best commercial of the superbowl this year. I was pretty disappointed overall with the commercials and then this one came on and I literally laughed out loud. I did however enjoy the game. The teams were evenly matched and it wasn't a runaway game.

We didn't have a huge party, I just made a really large crock pot of chili and had the neighbors over for the game. Good food, good people, good football - can't as for much more.....well you could ask for Nascar but that is in 2 weeks!

Friday night was Bunco night and we were a member short so I quickly gave Katie a call and she came through for me. I think she had a good time and is now a "regular" so keep your calendar free the first Friday of each month Katie.! We didn't win any $$ but once again, we were in our element and we bounced things off each other and had another girl just rolling. I swear Katie and I need to form a comedy team and go on the road - ok ok maybe just a writing team but let me tell ya - our show would make you pee your pants you would laugh so hard. If you go over to her place, ask her about the defib tattoo (bwhahaha!).

Mr. Cheeky was supposed to get in around 10:30ish ummmm that didn't happen. He hadn't even left Dallas by 10:30. He wasn't going to get in until 1:15AM! So, Katie came back to the house with me to keep me awake until I had to go to the airport. After all was said and done we didn't walk in the door until 2:35AM! Good thing Hockey on Saturday wasn't until 1:45 - otherwise we would have missed it and that would have been a shame cause manchild SCORED!! during the game.

So it was a really good laugh filled weekend. Today we are supposed to get anywhere between 3-5 inches of good wet snow (you know the heavy kind) so I think I am just going to hunker down in the craft room today after getting everyone out the door.

Cheeky who is going to leave you with a question today instead of a song....and my question is.....

What was your favorite superbowl commercial?

Don't ya just love it (and other random things)

When you wake up you just KNOW its gonna be a wonderful day? Its only 7:21a and I have already been fairly productive this morning. I have lots of things to do today but that is ok. I have to get groceries, do some laundry, I have a class I want to attend (that is still not decided yet - I can do it next week too if I want), its BUNCO night (can you believe its already been a month? wish me luck) but the best part..... the very best part.....Mr. Cheeky comes home - WOOT!!! He doesn't get in until really late so I may have to take a nap this afternoon.

He has been gone all week in Dallas again. He will be home for almost 2 weeks and will be leaving again the day after Valentines. He was supposed to be leaving ON Valentines but he moved it just for me...awwww.

OH OH speaking of Valentines - last call to be on "the list". I have all of my cards ready to go and have the supplies to do a few more if someone out there wants one. Just email me with your snail mail addy (cheekygrin30 at yahoo dot com) and then you are on "the list". This years card is a simple design but I like it. Deadline if you want in on this round is next Friday. And while we are on the subject - if you want off the list (I can't imagine why) but if you do, drop me a note and let me know that too.

Last night I went on a date with the man child. He wanted wings and wings he got! Its hard not to go on a date when he wants wings.

That's all I got for this morning. I can't sit here too much longer otherwise I will lose my motivation and I don't want to do that today.

Cheeky - who in honor of Mr. Cheeky coming home is gonna sing a little ditty from Huey Lewis and the News (I pink puffy heart Huey).....and if you don't have their greatest hits CD - you don't know what you are missing - go out and get it - NOW!!

Early in the morning, I'm still in bed
She comes to me with sweet affection
Wakes me with kisses, "Hello sleepyhead."
Gets me moving in the right direction
I do my best to give her love that lasts forever
It seems like everythiung I do I'm doing better

Doing it all for my baby
Because she's as fine as she can be
Doing it all for my baby
For everything she does for me

Later in the evening, it's been a busy day
She lays her head upon my weary shoulder
Listen to her laughing, snuggle up and say
Now I'm with you baby, the loneliness is over
I do my best to give her love that lasts forever
It seems like everything I do I'm doing better

Doing it all for my baby
Because she's as fine as she can be
Doing it all for my baby
For everything she does for me

Doin it
Doin it
Doin it doin it doin it yeah

Doin it
Doin it
Whoo hoo hoooo

Doin it
Doin it
Doin it doin it doin it yeah

Doin it
Doin it
Whoo hoo hoooo
