Long Distance Request and Dedication

OK so ya'll know that I usually don't blog on the weekend but I have decided to start something new. I am a child of the 80's and as such grew up with the weekly top 40 (the original with Casey Kasem not Casey wannabe Ryan Seacrest) on the weekends and LOVED it! So, as I was doing my daily torture on the treadmill yesterday and listening to my ipod I decided to start this. Each week I will send our YOUR long distance request and dedication. Here is how it works: Email me with your request (the email is on my profile - if this gets popular I will create an email just for this), and I will send it out. Please make all requests via email and not in the comments section, we don't want to tip people off as to what is coming next week and spoil the fun now do we? It can be annonymous or you can give your initials, name, alias, whatever. Tell me the song you want to hear and why (love, hate, revenge, the possibilities are endless). Each week I will choose one maybe two and put them here for all to enjoy. This could be really fun ya'll but you have to participate to get this thing going. I hope to have a banner soon that you can put on your blogs as well to promote my little hobby. So what do you think? Think it will work? Let me know in the comments if you like it or not.

Let's start this week out with two little ditties of my own choosing. I am going to keep who they are meant for a secret for now but if they read this (which each one does on occasion) they will know its for them.

So here it is - the very first long distance request and dedication - Bon Jovi's Last Cigarette

Regrets are all you left, on your lipstick stains
Take a picture of our past there in that ashtray
We had our fun, I used to light your flame
Like the dancing smoke that rose we tried to find our way

No one told me, she told me

Your love's like one last cigarette
Last cigarette, I will savor it
The last cigarette
Take it in and hold your breath, hope it never ends
But when it's gone, it's gone
The last cigarette

Just to breathe reminds me of what used to be
The smoke's the ghost that keeps you close when I can't sleep
Don't ask the past to last, it's about to change
The memories don't answer when I call your name

No one told me, she told me

Your love's like one last cigarette
Last cigarette, I will savor it
The last cigarette
Take it in and hold your breath, hope it never ends
But when it's gone, it's gone
One last cigarette, last cigarette
One I can't forget, the last cigarette
Right there at my fingertips, got your taste still on my lips
Right or wrong
You're still gone, gone, gone

No one told me, she told me
You always lose the girl in a Brian Wilson world

Your love's like one last cigarette
Last cigarette, I will savor it
The last cigarette
Take it in and hold your breath, hope it never ends
But when it's gone, it's gone
One last cigarette, last cigarette
One I can't forget, the last cigarette
Right there at my fingertips, got your taste still on my lips
Right or wrong
You're still gone, gone, gone

No one told me, she told me
The Last Cigarette

And while we are on Bon Jovi (cause if you know anything about me at all you know how I LOVE Bon Jovi, our second request and dedication - Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen from Mars

Dressed up for a big date
Like Halloween day but it was Fourth of July now
A car crash with a suitcase and a painted face
She was one of a kind
She wears a plastic crown like Cinderella
And roller skates in bed

Crash rides the greyhound from his hometown
When he comes around 'cause they don't let him drive now
Mixed up as a milkshake
But make no mistake
They're shooting for the stars

You and me
We're invincible together
We can be so tragical, whatever
Dressed up just like ziggy but he couldn't play guitar
Captain Crash and the beauty queen from mars

Share a toothpick, trading lipstick
Watching traffic for days at the diner
Holding hands, making big plans
Playing Superman, he was wearing eyeliner
Another local legend and his longtime lucky charm

You and me
We're invincible together
We can be so tragical, whatever
Dressed up just like ziggy but he couldn't play guitar
Captain Crash and the beauty queen from mars

They're drunk on love as you can get
Getting high on lust and cigarettes
Living life with no regrets
At least they're gonna try to fly

You and me
We're invincible together
We can be so tragical, whatever
We're Sid and Nancy
Fred and Ginger
Clyde and Bonnie
Liz and Richard
Kurt and Courtney
Bacall and Bogie
Joltin' Joe and Ms. Monroe
Here's captain crash and the beauty queen from mars
