Weekend UpdateWell, lets see....
Friday, I had a very rare moment at Chez Cheeky. Very rare indeed. So rare that I almost didn't know what to do. I had the evening off without kids. WHAT?! I know - amazing huh? Well, after staring at each other and not knowing what to do, Mr. Cheeky and I decided to go to St. Paul to hang out at Sweeney's with one of his old work friends (and my friend too) that relocated to TX in Feb/Mar of 2007. Wow. Doesn't seem that long ago.
Saturday, we were up early and went to WI to Willows Falls. It was an overcast day (thank goodness). The falls were gorgeous as always and the water was freezing but we had a good time. The walk up that hill though....lets just say I paid for it the next day. After the falls, we went to the park (on the other side of the state park where the falls are) and had a picnic lunch and sort of lounged around for a while. Overall a really good day.
Sunday, it was time to take Mr. Cheeky back to the airport - AGAIN! He will be home 2 days in the next 4 weeks! Yes, you read that right. This travel has officially gotten on my last nerve. On my way back from the airport I stopped by Archiver's for some retail therapy and then I took the kids to see Batman! I don't care if you are a fan of the batman series or not. GO.SEE.THIS.MOVIE. Awesome! A solid two and half hours so you get your money's worth.
That's about it - nothing too exciting or spectacular.

Seriously.....6:54am???In the summer? As a kid, summer was a time for sleeping in, lounging around, playing, and generally just doing what you wanted. As I got older, it was time to catch up on the soaps (shut it).
Today, at 6:54 in the AM....manchild's little friend was ringing the doorbell. He was bright eyed and ready to play. At 6:54 in the AM! Dude, I am here in my nighty shirt working (cause I can do that now) and you are wanting to play? With my manchild who will sleep as late as I let him? Well, come on in, I will wake him up. And that is precisely what I did.
Now ordinarily I would send the kid away until at least 8 but this particular kid is moving. His household goods are being packed up. He will be gone by next week. This is manchild's BFF and manchild was just so sad earlier this week when he thought that his friend had left and he didn't get a chance to give him his phone number (boys aren't big on doing that right away like girls are) so they can get together later (BFF is moving to another town that isn't very far away so play dates and sleep overs will be totally do-able).
So, its 7:34 and my manchild and his friend are playing.....what are yours doing? I bet they are sleeping....like normal kids.

Happy BIRTHDAY DADDY!!
Yes, my internets.....today is the day that the Cheekster's Daddy was birthed. Now I would tell you how old he is, but he did that already in my birthday comments this week - so if you were paying attention you would already know.
And for the record, I am the blonde one in the picture (that is for those of you who are new to the blog) holding my first George.

New Job RecapI am glad to report that it is so far so good! My biggest challenge will be learning their system. And quite frankly that is just going to take some time. After getting a quick overview I was told to just..."play with it and see if I can break it".
I already have a few positions to work on so I am happy about that. I am going in today and tomorrow and I think that will be it as far as working from the office is concerned.
THANK YOU again for all the birthday wishes! I had a GREAT birthday and of course it included Lobster!! I always want lobster for my special occasion dinners. From the family I got some roses and a blue tooth for my phone(s). I also got a gift cert for another spa day (Woot!). Oh and I get a delayed gift as well - tickets to go see Journey in Sept.
I also got lots of GREAT cards and other goodies so I will be sharing those later this week.

Oh Yeah - its my Birfday!It's 6:30am and today I am 36! Yep, that's right - I am older than dirt but I don't care - you just wish you looked this good at 36! Bwhahahaha!. I have been up for about an hour and already my day has been one smile moment after another. For starters, I wake up and decide that I just can't lay there anymore cause I have to go potty really really bad (don't ya hate that - you wanna stay in bed but your bladder has a different idea?) and when I do, I see a bouquet of flowers and a card from.....the Teenage Daughter waiting for me on the counter in the bathroom. She went after work to get them - wasn't that nice of her? And the card - seriously, the card was made with me in mind. It was one of those singing cards that had a strutting blinged out flamingo on it. It moved when you moved the card. I mean really - wasn't that made just for me?
Then I start checking email and the message board over at AMR and I feel so blessed to have so many people thinking of me and sending me birfday wishes. I do have some of the best blogger and MB buds a girl could ever hope for.
Also today, I start my new job! Sweet! I am going in the office a couple of hours each day this week just to learn their systems. After that, I will be working from home. Today I have to get my laptop configured for my email and VPN.
Now, on to the vacation recap. OH.MY.GOODNESS.....I rode the world's fastest and tallest roller coaster and while I was skeered at first - it was the bestest ride evah!!! The ride is called the Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. You go from zero to 120mph in less that 4 seconds. And then...when you think you can't pee your pants anymore....you shoot strait up at a 90 degree angle and go 420 feet straight in the air do a little turn and then come straight down. It was incredible! Well worth driving 12 hours just for that one ride. Just pee before you get on it (no I didn't pee my pants - just giving you some advice...geesh). I have to say that Cedar Point lives up to its reputation as being one of the best roller coaster places in the world. Far superior to Six Flags (we went there on Friday). The water park was awesome too.
I think we picked the perfect week to go. It was after the 4th and in the middle of the week so the crowds were gone for the most part. The longest I stood in line for any one ride was about 30-40 mins and that was for the Dragster. The weather was overall really good - except getting drenched the first day with a storm that came through. The light show at the end of the night was a little hokey but that's ok....we went for the rides, not the show. We got home Saturday afternoon and was just completely worn out. I will have to give a more detailed recap later this week as there are so many things and I don't want to make this too long.
Cheeky - who is gonna go put on her walking shoes and go for a little morning stroll and sing in the neighborhood (hey - I have to live up to my crazy neighbor reputation right?).

Oh yeah - I'm on vacay!So, I set this weeks posts up on Saturday nite. So now its Monday and well....you will never know. Oh and let me take this time to remind you that we are ONE WEEK...that's right people...ONE WEEK away from the day that Cheeky was birthed. Woot!
I guess its only fitting that I start with a quick weekend update.
Friday - its the holiday. I did nothing. Wait. I did do something. I saw firecrakers. Woot woot!
Saturday, it was all about getting ready for the vacay. Get the breaks done on the car - to the tune of .....well lets just say I could have 3 Coach bags for what it cost me mmmmkay? Then get the car home and then clean it up.....and get it ready. Then it was a little Rock Band and I played a few on EXPERT....let me say that again....E.X.P.E.R.T....I was the drummer. I rock. Just call me Tico Torres (and if you have to ask me who that is then I don't know you...Capish?).
Sunday.....well....considering I am writing this on Saturday night I can only assume that Sunday will be full of packing and interstate views. I will be taking notes and will have tales to tell when I return.
So I have decided, that this week as I write a few posts for your reading pleasure in my absence that I should at least do my duty and edumacate a few of you in the process. This week will be dedicated to a few of my favorite School House Rock Episodes.

So, you would think when a person doesn't have to get up to go to work that they would at least sleep in until 7 right? Right? Yeah, not me. Somebody needs to reset the screaming kitty alarm. He was pawing my face by 5:45...AM!!! But its ok. Today. Maybe it won't be so ok tomorrow.
I got a call yesterday afternoon and before I head in to the spa I need to stop by my "new" office and do some paperwork and get myself ready to start - on my b-day (did I tell you its my b-day soon?). Cool part is that they are only 5 mins away from the spa. Sweet! Not sure what I am going to do after my FULL DAY SPA (don't hate). I could come home and clean but let's get serious here - we all know that is NOT going to happen. Maybe I will take manchild to the movies.
So, that's about all I have for ya today. Below is another installment for video week. I loves me some MadTV and so this is another skit. May not be so work appropriate so if you read from work you may want to wait to view - just a little FYI.....

OK so its July 1 you know what that means???Its the beginning of what has traditionally been known as my BIRTHDAY MONTH!! so let the fun begin!!! WOOT!! As most of you know the official day is the 14th but I make it a month long celebration. To kick off the month properly, tomorrow I am going to Rocco Altobelli for a full day spa - don't hate.
It is also the end of one thing and the beginning of something else. Today is the last day of my contract. Yep - it ends today.....but don't cry for me cause yesterday I was offered a WORK FROM HOME job with another company! Can I get a Woot Woot?!! Ya'll know I worked from home for 2 years and LOVED it and now I am doing it again. The only catch is that it is 100% commission. Could be good, could be problematic (depending on how long it takes me to fill some jobs) but I am looking at it as being good. I have all the equipment I need (laptop, cell, internet) so I am ready to go. I am actually going to start working on the 14th (my b-day) since I am going on vacation next week. I will take my laptop in to their IT guy sometime this week to get all the stuff put on it I need. They do have an office locally so IF I want to go in I can AND its so laid back I can wear what I want....shorts, t-shirt, flip flops, sweats......you wait - after I get to know them I am showing up in my bunny slippers....yes I am!
