If you say my eyes are beautiful....

So, what does it mean when you are at Trader Joe's getting a case (yes, I said a case - shut it!) of 3 buck chuck and the chick at the register tells you that "you should always wear that shade of green - it really makes your eyes stand out"? Was she just being nice, was she looking at me to see if I was really 21, OR was she hitting on me???? Quite frankly, I don't care. It made me feel good.

We got home Saturday morning at 10:30 and Mr. Cheeky was there waiting for us at baggage claim. So.....the kids go stand by the baggage carousel while Mr. Cheeky and I catch up on our smoochin' (tmi?). Then its off to the car, which I lost. OK so I knew I parked in the GOLD lot - I just didn't remember the level. Shut it - I was more worried about starting the vacay to pay attention to where I parked mmmmkay?

We get home and its a love fest (get your minds out of the gutter people) a kitty love fest. My poor babies were so happy we were home. We started unpacking and doing laundry and then that was it for a while. We just vegged. Teenage Daughter started her SECOND job yesterday. Yes, second. After she got back, Mr. Cheeky and I went to Trader Joes, Costco, and Target to get our shopping done. Then it was home for .....wanna guess.....come on......yep, that's right....BIG FAT HONKERS and a bottle (or 2) of 3 buck chuck. That was about it. We were tired. We are still tired.

Sunday - I got some playing time down in my room. Jenie your invites are almost done! I need to get the paper to do 5 more (I screwed up a few in the desing phase) and then something for the envelopes but then they are done! They should be out to you this week!

Today I am up at 4am to take Mr. Cheeky to the airport (he has a 6am flight and I won't see him for 2 weeks) and then I work all day, and yeah we are getting dumped on AGAIN....they are calling for something like 6 inches of snow - yeah I am gonna be in a great mood at the end of the day.....just stick a fork in me, I'll be done.

If you say my eyes are beautiful
It's because they're looking at you
And if you could only see yourself
You'd feel the same way too
You could say that I am a dreamer
Who's had a dream come true
If you say my eyes are beautiful
It's because they're looking at you

If you wonder why I'm smiling
It's because I'm happy with you
And the warm sensations touch my heart
And fill me through and through
I could hold you close forever
And never let you go
If you say my eyes are beautiful
It's because I just love you so

Now, my heart is an open door
Won't you come inside for more
You give love so sweetly now
Take my love take me completely now
If you say my eyes are beautiful
It's because they're looking at you
And my eyes are just the window
For my feelings to come through
And by far you are more beautiful
Than anything I ever knew
If you say my eyes are beautiful
If you say my eyes are beautiful
If you say my eyes my eyes are beautiful

It's because, It's because, they're looking at you

eHarmony Reject

That was among the many many t-shirts that I should have bought while in Myrtle Beach shopping. Others include:

"If you don't talk to your cats about catnip - who will?"

"You had me at Meow"

"I gots my hair did"

There were many others but I can't remember them right now cause its late and I just drove to NC after spending all day in SC. eHarmony Reject has to be my favorite though.

Tomorrow, our last day (can you hear the violins playing?) on vacay, we will be spending with Mom and Dad. Actually, I don't think I have spent enough $$ yet so I am gonna visit a stamp store that I used to frequent when I lived here way back when.

I have pics of the gluttony that was Crabby Mikes but I will have to post those Monday after I get back home.

Cheeky - who is down to almost 36 hours of vacay left.......I think I might be getting depressed.....

Today....its Myrtle Beach Baby

Yesterday, we had another relaxing fun day. I spent the day with Mommy K and we went to the new local scrapbook store and spent too much (shhhh don't tell Mr. Cheeky) and then went back to her place to scrap!

Then it was off to the German's joint to eat....yum yum yum! That man can cook let me tell ya. He makes the world's best red cabbage. Sooooooo gooooood.

TD's friend "A" spent the night with us in the hotel and is skipping school (shhhhh don't tell) and spending the day with us in Myrtle where we are going to go to Crabby Mike's and eat our weight in crab legs baby! So sad that Patti and her crew couldn't join....was really hopin to see some man thong (Bwhaahahahahaha - inside joke). So, Patti if you can sneak away call me and we will wait for ya honey!

Cheeky - who is gonna channel her inner Belinda Carlisle and sing some Go-Go's....

Can't seem to get my mind off of you
Back here at home there's nothin' to do
Now that I'm away
I wish I'd stayed
Tomorrow's a day of mine that you won't be in

When you looked at me I should've run
But I thought it was just for fun
I see I was wrong
And I'm not so strong
I should've known all along that time would tell

A week without you
Thought I'd forget
Two weeks without you and I
Still haven't gotten over you yet

Vacation
All I ever wanted
Vacation
Had to get away
Vacation
Meant to be spent alone

A week without you
Thought I'd forget
Two weeks without you and I
Still haven't gotten over you yet

Vacation
All I ever wanted
Vacation
Had to get away
Vacation
Meant to be spent alone

Ahhhhhhh the South

The sun.....the warmth (yes, 50 is warm so shut it!). The first two days have been busy busy. Have had a nice time catching up with friends and dinner tonight was the best! We went to get fire food (that is what manchild calls Japanese) and we had the best chef I have ever had. Dude was workin it for a tip. I mean really working it and fuuuunnnnyyy! OH I haven't laughed so much in a long time.

So as the chef is cooking and he just dumped out the rice from the bowl and its all round like the bowl.... he hands a spatula to John....big John, six foot something John, and said:

Chef - "slap it and say whos your daddy"
John: just looking at it
Chef - "slap and say who's your daddy"
John: (takes the spatula, slaps the rice, and says) "whos your daddy"
Chef: "No, do it like you mean it"
John: (slaps is hard and says) "whos your daddy"
Chef: takes the spatula back, slaps the rice and says..."now say my name"

OK Maybe you had to be there but we were all rolling.

Only one thing would have made it better and that was if Mr. Cheeky would have been able to join us.

Tomorrow, I will be hanging out with my girl Mommy K and then going to get some home cooked German food with my favorite Germans!

I have already gained 10 pounds LOL

Big ol' Jet Airliner

Don't carry me to far away......Ohhhhh big ol jet airliner.... cause its here that I got to stay.....

OK OK that is really more for the END of the trip - not the beginning but I always sing leavin on a jet plane and I thought I needed to mix it up a bit.

HAPPY EASTER!

I will be getting on the plane at 10:30 and landing in Charlotte 2 hours later at 1:30. I know what you are thinking...that's not 2 hours - that's 3! Well duh! I cross a time zone.....geesh - has your easter candy sugar high not kicked in yet?

I will be having updates from the road and making notes along the way so I don't forget anything. Traveling with the kids always gives us funny little tidbits to talk about later.

I will get to see Mr. Cheeky today (in the words of TKW - bow chica wah wah). He flew up on Friday night. I haven't seen him for 2 solid weeks. But I only get to see him for a day then on Monday when I head out to Charleston, I will be dropping him off at the airport to go back to Florida. I will see him again when I get back from my trip.

I hope Patti, Stacy and Madison are able to meet us in Myrtle Beach for some Crabby Mike's goodness. Stacy promised to wear his man thong! And I sure Madison will be askin "where's miss Katie at?" cause apparently one of us can't go anywhere without the other. LOL

So Happy Easter to all my internet! I will most likely update again Monday night!

OH and SFG - Honey - slow down on the Reese Easter Eggs.....bwhahahahhaha!! (little inside joke there)

Ever wonder

What your interviewer is doing on the other end of the telephone? Well yesterday, if you happened to be one of the 8 people that were long winded and took 5 minutes to answer a 2 second question

(question: how many years experience? Answer: well just start talking for five minutes but don't answer the question so I have to ask it again and keep rambling so I can't get a word in and cut you off to get to the point - that was the story of my life yesterday)

- yeah, if that was you....I was putting you on mute and I was cussin you.....AND if you happened to be one of the last calls of the day doing that.....not only were you getting a few choice words thrown your way but then I was tearing you apart in my evaluation.

Oh and then, I would take you off mute and lie to you and say how it was a pleasure speaking to you and wishing you luck - knowing full well you just talked yourself right out of a job!

Day two of the sultry voice (guess my vocal cords aren't as young as they used to be).......TMP if this keeps up we will talk bidness soon.

Livin on a Prayer!!!

OK so....I am tired....worn out....my knees hurt (and no I won't say from what) BUT...WE HAD A TOTAL BLAST!

I am going to be late for work so I am just going to give you a few tidbits and give the full story tomorrow (or tonight when I have more time).

Daughtry is good live.

Daughtry's drummer was channeling his inner eyes wide shut by wearing a mask while playing.

Cheeky to TD: I need some lip stuff and I left mine at home
TD: Here I have some
Cheeky: Ewwww its plain chapstick
TD: Well your not supposed to lick it

Katie was slightly late to meet us cause she got turned around.
TD to Cheeky: And ummm how long has she lived here?

The people sitting behind us think Katie and I are lesbians and we were there with our family.

The people sitting in front of us paid eighty bucks a pop to hear me and Katie give them a concert. I think it was worth it - we are that good.

The man sitting beside us (and we have his picture) didn't seem to be enjoying the show at all.....

It has been decided that I should put maracas on my hips for when they play Keep the Faith.

TD: "L" decided she was going to be Bob Marley for Halloween and I said I could be her joint.

TD got a free $45 T-shirt in her size no less. Apparently the people that were sitting behind us OR the people that were in our seats before we got there left it. We couldn't just leave it there right? It needed a good home. Of course man child and I needed to buy ours. We weren't that special.

If you are manchild and getting tired toward the end of the show and just want to go to sleep (sacrilege I know), your mom (me) will make you stand up and dance with her. She will make you shake your hips. She will make you sing with her.

Someone who talks for her job (that would be) should take care that when she goes to a show and sings, really loudly, and screams for 2 and half hours (that was just for JBJ - that doesn't include Daughtry OR the ride there). She might have a slight problem the next morning and sound all sultry with a deep voice the next morning - ....but I guess it would be a perfect voice for phone s*x.....but I don't do that...I'm just sayin...

Those are the highlights. More to come later....film at 11.

OK so I am going through some serious withdrawals - I mean really.....

Friday night I had a really nice time with the MN bitches! I was sad to see that Jessica couldn't make it. Maybe next time as we have decided to make this a quarterly thing and go to a different place each time. Woot!

Saturday all I could do was rest. I was soooooooo tired. I had all these plans of doing things and getting the house in order. Yeah, NONE of it happened. Then I got sort of moody for no reason (no its not my PMDD kickin in....tooo early for that....tmi?).

Sunday was a little better but I am just so darn tired. So didn't get as much done as I would have liked BUT.....I made it a priority to get some crafting done....I just needed the outlet ya know?

So this week is going to busy and now that all of the snow is melted it looks as if we are getting more today and tonight. Lovely.....NOT. Usually I wouldn't care but now I have to drive in it ...I don't like that cause people up here can't drive. Plus, I have lots of things that need to be done before vacation.

Tomorrow is BON JOVI!!!!!!!! So I don't care how tired I am - I am gonna be there!.

So here is a brief update for ya. Oh and something really cool happened at work on Friday but you will have to come back to read about it tomorrow cause I am outta time now.

So yeah this whole working out of the house thing

Is starting to catch up with me. This probably wasn't the best time to start a new job. We have been running around so much that I didn't even feel like I had a weekend. And.....Mr. Cheeky left again Sunday night and I won't see him again until we are in Charlotte (in 2 weeks). I have a friend from Charleston in town (for training) that I want to spend time with. Teenage daughter started softball and needs taxi service, in the middle someone stole and hour from me Saturday night.... and it just goes on and on and on. I feel like I need an assistant LOL!

I am sure I will get in a routine and things will be fine. I knew last month that this month was going to be brutal scheduling wise.

As for the job, they are turning me loose on my own today - Woot! Its really not hard at all but man I stay busy. Not much time to get a drink or go potty or nothing. Yeah, it makes to day go by but still.....I need a little goof off time! We got another new girl yesterday so I am no longer low man on the totem pole. So far so good on those that are in my "pod". One girl I am not so sure about. She seemed to get her panties in a wad when were talking about schedules yesterday. The girl that sits directly across from me - oh yeah - we get along great. I think she is gonna be yin to my yang..... we are gonna own that joint before too long!

I know I have been a bad blogger buddy but I promise I will get around to visit you - just need to get a grip on when I get some "me" time around this place.........think I can get my coordinator to schedule that on my calendar???

Cheeky who is channeling her inner Donna Summer....

She works hard for the money, so hard for it, honey
She works hard for the money, so you better treat her right
She works hard for the money, so hard for it, honey
She works hard for the money, so you better treat her right

Onetta there on the corner stands and she wonders where she is
And it seems to her some people seem to have everything
Nine A.M. on the hour hand and she’s waiting for the bell
And she’s looking real pretty, just waiting for her clientele

She works hard for the money, so hard for it, honey
She works hard for the money, so you better treat her right
She works hard for the money, so hard for it, honey
She works hard for the money, so you better treat her right

Twenty eight years have come and gone and she seen a lot of tears
All the ones who come in, they really seem to need her bad.
It’s a sacrifice workin’ day to day, what little money, just tips for pay
But it’s worth it all just to hear them say that they care.

She works hard for the money, so hard for it, honey
She works hard for the money, so you better treat her right
She works hard for the money, so hard for it, honey
She works hard for the money, so you better treat her right

Already know she’s seen the bad life
Already knows these are the good times
She’ll never sell out, she never will, not for a dollar bill
She works hard.....

She works hard for the money, so hard for it, honey
She works hard for the money, so you better treat her right
She works hard for the money, so hard for it, honey
She works hard for the money, so you better treat her right

17 years ago today....

In a church in Maiden, North Carolina, I married Mr. Cheeky.......

For those of you that don't know, I met Mr. Cheeky in the 7th grade and was immediately smitten. We were "boyfriend and girlfriend" off and on until October of our Sophomore year...that would be....1987 - over 21 years ago. And from that moment on we have been joined "at the hip" so to speak (get your mind out the gutter people). We have been together for over half our lives. Sort of amazing if you stop to think about it. How many people do YOU know that have been together since their sophomore year at highschool? Not many I bet.

Of course now our age is starting to show, and a few more wrinkles are setting in (as well as a few - ok a lot more poundage - well at least for me anyway) but in my eyes he hasn't aged a single day. He is still the same funny, handsome boy who stole his first kiss by the water fountain outside the bandroom.

Happy Anniversary Hon!!! I love you even more now than I did back then!!!!!

And for you.....I am gonna sing (ok ok I know if you are reading this you are rolling your eyes right about now - but that is why you love me....haha)

My love, there's you only life
The only thing that's right
My first love, your every breath that I take
Your every step I make

And I
I want to share all my love with you
No one else will do
And your eyes
They tell me how much I care
Oh yes, you will always be my endless love

Two hearts, two hearts that beat as one
Our lives have just begun
Forever
I'll hold you close in my arms
I can't resist your charms

And love
I'll be a fool for you
I'm sure
'Cause baby you, you mean the world to me
Oh I know I found you in my endless love

Oh and love, I'll be that fool for you
I'm sure
That you know I don't mind
And yes, you'll be the only one
'Cause no one can deny
This love I had inside
And I'll give it all to you
My love, my endless love

They pay me to do this?

Ok so the first day of work was a success. The commute to and from work is not bad at all. I thought the evening commute would be longer than it was. I will be checking out the back roads - I hear that is even faster than the interstate. I took a quick assessment of those that I need to make my "friends". You know, those that handle your calendar, the receptionist, etc. Those that take care of you if you take care of them kinda people. Yeah, I got them pegged and I am already layin on the charm.

My boss is too funny. Very laid back. He is already making fun of my twang. "Can you repeat that? I couldn't understand you with all that twang". I told him it gets really bad if I am on the phone with the hubs or family and after I come back from spring break its gonna be really really bad. Yep, so far he's a keeper.

So far people seem nice but of course they usually are on the first day. I did have one guy say "you aren't very shy are you?" Ummm that would be a NO. As the personalities make themselves known I am sure I will be coming up with some creative names for them.

So that is the first day - I am sure as time goes on I will find things to gripe an moan about - just not yet.

Cheeky who is singing another work song.......a little Kenny Loggins..... Footloose....

I been working so hard
I'm punchin my card
Eight hours, for what?
Now tell me what I got

I get this feeling
That time's just holding me down
I'll hit the ceiling
Or else I'll tear up this town

Now I gotta cut

Loose, footloose
Kick off my Sunday shoes
Please, Louise
Pull me offa my knees
Jack, get back
C'mon before we crack
Lose your blues
Come on and cut footloose

You're playing so cool
Obeying every rule
I dig a way down in your heart
You're burning, yearning for some

Somebody to tell you
That life ain't passing you by
I'm trying to tell you
It will if you don't even try
You could fly if only cut

Loose, footloose
Kick off the Sunday shoes
Oowhee, Marie
Shake it, shake it for me
Whoa, Milo
C'mon, c'mon let's go
Lose your blues
Everybody cut footloose

Cut Footloose
Cut Footloose
Cut Footloose

You've got to turn me around
You put your feet on the ground
Now take a hold of the phone
Whooaaaaaa, I'm turning it

Loose, footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes
Please, Louise
Pull me offa my knees
Jack, get back
C'mon before we crack
Lose your blues
Come on and cut footloose

Footloose, footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes
Oowhee, Marie
Shake it, shake it for me
Whoa, Milo
C'mon, c'mon let's go
Lose your blues
Everybody cut footloose

The work is too easy. Seriously, I can't believe they are gonna pay me what they pay me for the work that I am gonna do. I will be busy, not a lot of goofin off time but that will make the day go buy nicely.

And so it begins

So, I am already up, walked (thanks Jana), showered, and enjoying my morning coffee and its just now seven. I don't have to leave for WORK (sounds so funny to say "leave for work" since I haven't had to leave the house to work in over 2 years, I am so spoiled)another hour and a half. Geesh. Of course I will have to tell you how it all goes. OH and while I am at it......ya'll know that I usually don't blog on the weekends, well you must come by on Sunday. I will have a special post up.

Ok - subject change....do ya'll watch House of Payne on TBS? If you don't you don't know what you are missing. Last night they had a few new episodes and one of them had Madea (you know from Diary of a Mad Black Woman?). I love me some Madea. Seriously, every family needs a Madea AND they also need a Mr. Brown. Mr. Cheeky and I just roll we laugh so hard when those characters are on. Oh don't get me wrong, we love the regulars too (Uncle Curtis is our fav) but ....oh just watch it and see.

Cheeky - who is going to have to start searching her memory for songs about work ....Let me start with this one....a little Sheena Easton....

I wake up every morning
I stumble out of bed
Stretching and yawning
Another day ahead
It seems to last forever
And time goes slowly by
Till babe and me's together
Then it starts to fly

'Cause the moment that he's with me
Time can take a flight
The moment that he's with me
Everything's alright
Night time is the right time
We make love
Then it's his and my time
We take off

My baby takes the morning train
He works from nine till five and then
He takes another home again
To find me waiting for him

My baby takes the morning train
He works from nine till five and then
He takes another home again
To find me waiting for him

He takes me to a movie
Or to a restaurant, to go
Slow dancing anything I want
Only when he's with me
I catch light
Only when he gives me
Makes me feel alright

My baby takes the morning train
He works from nine till five and then
He takes another home again
To find me waiting for him

All day I think of him
Dreamin' of him constantly
I'm crazy mad for him
And he's crazy mad for me
When he steps off that train
I'm makin' a fool, a fight
Work all day to earn his pay
So we can play all night

My baby takes the morning train
He works from nine till five and then
He takes another home again
To find me waiting for him

He's always on that morning train
He works so hard
To find me waiting for him

And now, the end is near

And so I face, the final curtain. My friend, I'll say it clear, I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.

I've lived a life that's full, I've traveled each and every highway; And more, much more than this, I did it MY way........

As you read this, I will be embarking on what will be my final day of retirement (at least for a little while). Yes my dear bloggers, this Cheeky is once again EMPLOYED and will start on Thursday (as in tomorrow)! I actually have to leave the house each and every Monday through Friday and work from 9-4. The job is not a hard one. Actually, its about 1/3 the work I used to do from my last job with the same amount of $$ so yeah, you can't complain about that.

It will be a 90 day contract that may or may not go permanent. I want to try them out first as a company and see if I like them. I am pretty spoiled by my last company so I want to know what I am getting myself into. If it works out - GREAT! If not, then I have some extra spending cash for the summer! See, its a win-win.

And incase you are wondering, NO it will not affect my trip that is planned for spring break except that now I can spend and not be worried about it! Sweeeeet!

I will be working in a cube (an oversized cube but still a cube) instead of an office (see I am spoiled). I of course will be decorating said cube with all my flamingo paraphenalia (tater heads came in second...sorry guys the flamingos rule). I have my beaded flamingo.. Flash (cause he's Flashay) courtesy of Katie. I have my bobble flamingo in shades and a hula skirt (he needs a name - suggestions?). I have my "I'm having a mood swing" flamingo flag, and of course my flamino dry erase board. And yes, I will be taking only the coolest of my personal office supplies (none of that tacky yellow note pad and plain jane pens for me - nope the funkier the better). I have to have the cool stuff.

Cheeky - who is off to enjoy her last day of retirement.....

BUT....before I begin with the weekend update.....stop what you are doing....and wish this man right here.....see this one in the pic (the man not the goat)....

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Yes, today is Mr. Cheeky's birthday! We love ya honey, and hope to make today very special for ya.

Now on to the update.

Friday, Mr. Cheeky came home, it was the start of the birthday weekend and it was wang and trivia night. I do so heart me some wangs and they did not disappoint. They did however, forget to bring me my little hamburger bites appetizer. It was ok - I didn't need the extra calories anyway. We got home and decided to watch the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Actually, the plan was to watch all the Indiana Jones movies in preparation for the new one coming out soon. At any rate, we didn't make it till the end of the movie. We all fell asleep (yes, we are really a bunch of party animals here at Chez Cheeky).

Saturday it was our usual, hockey practice, run errands, etc kind of day. I made some killer shrimp and scallops for dinner (and this time I didn't use cheyenne pepper instead of paprika - I read the bottle). It was FABULOUS!! Then it was time to play a little rock band and guitar hero before Mad TV came on. It was mostly me and Mr. Cheeky playing. Teenage daughter and her frient L came down for a few songs but that was about it.

Sunday, it was a lazy morning. Mr. Cheeky had to do a little work (which really stinks but at least he was home). He made his customary weekend breakfast of hashbrowns and bacon (YUM). I made brownies for Mr. Cheeky's b-day at his request and we kinda goofed around until it was time for manchild's hockey jamboree. Two and half hours of games and then it was trophy time. He also received a little extra gift from the high school hockey team coach for manchild's participation in carrying the flag for one of their games. It was a framed pic of the team and they all signed it. I thought that was pretty nice.

After the game we headed over to a local pizza joint for a little party. Next weekend is out last hockey weekend and its out of town and so they wanted to do a little something incase there are those (like us and others) that are not going to stay the night. We had a nice time.

When we got home we watched the last part of the race (man I love nascar) while we were playing a board game with manchild. Teenage daughter decided to sit this one out - so she got to fold laundry instead (what a trade off).

So that is what happened in our neck of the woods....what did you do?
