They managed to pull it off

Mr. Cheeky managed to get two additional tickets to the game so we decided to take the kids and HH turned into eating burgers at Wendy's. Which is fine by me cause if you are gonna get a fast food burger, Wendy's is the only place to go - they ROCK!

So back to the game, during the last period and with one minute left to play - we won! Seriously guys, ya'll played great - during the last period. Not sure what the coach said to ya (who by the way was coaching his 1000th NHL game) but it obviously worked.

During the game, you know they show little snipets of upcoming events on the little video thing (yes, its a video thing, I can't think of what its called, its early and my go-go juice hasn't kicked in yet so cut me some slack mmmmmkay?). Anywho, I saw that Barry Manilow was coming so I did what any good blogger would do, I texted my blogger buds and it read "Am I a tard if I want to see Barry Manilow?" (not saying that I do, just saying there was a break in the game and I was entertaining myself let's keep that straight mmmmkay?). These are the responses I got in the order they were received:

BB #1: "Yes, and I don't know you anymore"
BB #2: "Kinda but I won't tell"
BB #3: "No No No"

I love messing with my girls LOL!

In other news the kennel known as Chez Cheeky is now open. Now remember I have two kitties of my own. Today, we will be getting Sadie. We have dogsat her several times throughout the year. When she is here for an extended time it usually will stress out (my) Kitty Girl and she pees. On furniture. Leather furniture. Right in front of you. Cause she is mad and stressed out. We will have Sadie for a week. Then on Saturday, we will be receiving the siamese kitties Taz and Sugar (brother and sister in case you were wondering and Shug is cross eyed which makes us laugh but I digress...). They will be staying from this Saturday through January 2nd. My kitties are usually ok with these two after they are here for a while. Actually Taz and (my) Sylvester are pretty good buds after about a day. So, as of this Saturday, we will have FOUR kitties and ONE dog, TWO kids and TWO adults in the house. Don't you wanna come and join in the fun?

For your viewing enjoyment a little video from the last visit of Taz and Shug:

The first tragedy of the holiday season

So yesterday morning I was working away upstairs and getting the manchild his breakfast before school. Things were running smoothly and that is when I heard it. The sound of glass breaking from downstairs. Crap! The cats must be playing under the tree again. So I go downstairs and start looking under the tree. Nothing but presents. Hmmmm.... I look around and halfway across the room I find this......

It appears that Mr. Sylvester (aka the cat that likes to hork and hide it) has decided that he likes to play with the NEW (let me repeat that NEW - as in just bought on Friday new) glass ornaments! So because I watch so much CSI and learned a thing or two (and because I have since witnessed this), I have deduced that Sylvester was taking the ornament in his mouth and tossing it up in the air then batting it around with his paw playing with it. Just so happens that when the ornament landed on the carpet it hit the corner of a DVD case (Elf in case you were wondering) and shattered into the carpeting. Now why couldn't he do this with an old crappy one? Why did he pick my new one?

Since throwing around the ornaments is something that Sylvester seems to enjoy I suspect that I will be seeing more tragedies as the holiday continues.

Oh and for the record - its now officially cold! Current temp is 7! with a windchill at -10!

I Promise.....

I promise that I will be better about blogging next week. Just been in a funk (or a little Funky as Mr. Fab would say).

BUT today IS a new day - a new day in which I can wear my snazzy sandals because it is like 60 degrees outside and I have my windows open and me and the cats have had our faces in the open window breathing in the fresh air (hmmm wonder what the neighbors think this strange southern person is doing in the window with her cats?) AND - I have been really good about going to the gym regularly (even with the painful blisters). AND tonight I am treating myself and going to Texas Roadhouse and me some RIBS ya'll!!!! You know the kind that are sooo tender they fall off the bone and they are drippin with sauce? Yeah, those! (I will walk longer on the treadmill tomorrow so just shut it mmmmkay?)

OH!! I can't believe I forgot to tell ya'll this - let's just blame it on the funk mmmmkay? Teenage Daughter made the JV softball team at school. Last year as an 8th grader she played on the 9th grade team. This year as a 9th grader she is playing JV. Not too shabby! She gets her uniform today so I will try to get her to model it and take some pics. So give her a shout out and show her some love - she has been feeling a little neglected on the blog.

ONE WEEK AND ONE DAY until this blinding white skin hits the beach. Wanna place bets on how fast I am gonna look like a lobster??? Come on you know you wanna play!

Cheeky - who was a sucker and paid for a 3 month gold membership on classmates and has been sending old friends lots of messages. So, in honor of my highschool days - I leave you with a little Digital Underground.....(yeah Kelly - this is for you LOL)....

All right!
Stop whatcha doin'
'cause I'm about to ruin
the image and the style that ya used to.
I look funny
but yo I'm makin' money see
so yo world I hope you're ready for me.
Now gather round
I'm the new fool in town
and my sound's laid down by the Underground.
I drink up all the Hennessey ya got on ya shelf
so just let me introduce myself
My name is Humpty, pronounced with a Umpty.
Yo ladies, oh how I like to hump thee.
And all the rappers in the top ten--please allow me to bump thee.
I'm steppin' tall, y'all,
and just like Humpty Dumpty
you're gonna fall when the stereos pump me.
I like to rhyme,
I like my beats funky,
I'm spunky. I like my oatmeal lumpy.
I'm sick wit dis, straight gangsta mack
but sometimes I get ridiculous
I'll eat up all your crackers and your licorice
hey yo fat girl, c'mere--are ya ticklish?
Yeah, I called ya fat.
Look at me, I'm skinny
It never stopped me from gettin' busy
I'm a freak
I like the girls with the boom
I once got busy in a Burger King bathroom
I'm crazy.
Allow me to amaze thee.
They say I'm ugly but it just don't faze me.
I'm still gettin' in the girls' pants
and I even got my own dance

The Humpty Dance is your chance to do the hump
Do the Humpty Hump, come on and do the Humpty Hump
Do the Humpty Hump, just watch me do the Humpty Hump
Do ya know what I'm doin', doin' the Humpty Hump
Do the Humpty Hump, do the Humpty Hump

Its a Freakin Heat Wave

OK don't laugh but yesterday it was in the lower 40's and it felt sooooo good. How good? So good that I actually opened up a window! Can you believe that crap?! I mean opening a window when the temp is in the 40's? How twisted is that?

Yesterday turned out to be a do nothing day for me and the kids and it was great. Today on the other hand is going to be really busy for me with work. I have lots of interviews scheduled and a meeting that usually lasts a minimum of an hour so yeah - lots of fun for me today...haha.

Couple of random things here:

Its time to get the nails done again (you know how I am about nails). They are getting too long and it makes it hard to type - well type fast - when they get too long. I am thinking I want to try another new color. Not sure what yet. The teenage daughter wants me to do green (?) I don't know why but I told her I think I may do that for St. Patty's day haha.

I have GOT to start going to the gym. This is no longer an option. I MUST GO. Today. or maybe tomorrow.

Looks like I am headed for another teeny bopper concert. Fallout Boy is headed to town and the teenager daughter and her friend want to go. Yep, I am taking them. Their last CD wasn't too bad so I think I can handle it (keeps me young right?).

Sylvester has started a new thing to wake me up. I have been ignoring his in my face screams in the morning. I just lay there perfectly still and ignore him. Now, he paws my head until I move and give him rubs. Seriously, he will paw my head (which reminds me, he needs a little kitty manicure too - his claws are too long to be pawing my head).

Cheeky - That's it - that is all I have today. I am feeling a little "sassy" so I need a good song to get my day started ...hmmmmm...so many to choose from....so why don't you suggest one???
