Now see this will brighten your day....

It will brighten your day even if you do get up and its still cold and read your email and see that your lunch with a blogger bud is cancelled cause she works and is not in retirment like you and you are sitting on the couch and see out of the corner of the blind something that is falling from the sky. You blink...blink blink blink...."what was that?" you say to yourself and then you see it again so you get up and open the blinds and see it....SNOW! Beautiful fluffy white flakes falling ever so gently.....that you will have to SHOVEL! Yeah see, even though you wake up to that....this will still brighten your day. What is it you ask?? Well just looky here....

Brittany gave this to me! And you know the little post she wrote when she received it - I could have wrote the exact same thing so what am I gonna do - well I am gonna "post lift*" it (yes, that is a new word made up by me...feel free to lift it for yourself). So here we go:

"I have to admit, I am a nerd, and I always get so excited when I get awards or when people just comment on my posts. I actually will call my hubby at work and say "I have 20 comments" or "someone likes me and gave me an award." All while, I am sure, his eyes are glazing over and he's thinking "why in the world did I marry this woman?" And then he remembers I have a nice.... sense of humor.

Anyway- for some reason Brittany believes I am Excellent!! :) Thanks, for thinking I am excellent and thanks to anyone who actually reads this blog! :) I appreciate it."

See.....she said it perfectly - I couldn't have said it any better. Well not with out coffee and not while snow (that I will have to SHOVEL) is falling.

Now....I get to pass this along to other EXCELLENT blogs.....Oh there are so many....so many indeed.

Katie - yes, even though you cancelled lunch with me today (a fact that I completely understand but will continue to give you crap about - see that is why you love me) I still think you are deserving!

The Monogram Queen herself - I pink puffy heart you so.....

Sheri and Suzan over at Celebrating Women. Ladies, ya'll are too funny.

Shell even though you don't post daily after the semester starts...I still think you are pretty excellent (yeah, say it like Bill and Ted)

Tommiea - my OCD FlyLady friend who I would love to hire just to come and organize my life....you are excellent (Say it like Wayne and Garth - from Wayne's World).

Just go to anybody that's over there in the blogroll (that I need to update) - they are all excellent - otherwise, why would I read them?

So THANK YOU Brittany for making my day, even though the snow has almost stopped falling and while it is only a dusting I am still gonna have to SHOVEL the driveway......

OH and ummmm just roll your mouse over the names and click - they are linked but the colors for links don't change on the new template.

**Post lift - in the scrappin and cardmaking world, when someone posts a pick of a layout or card that you want to copy you say you are going to "scraplift" the idea. I thought it would be appropriate for blogging as well.

Cheeky who is gonna sing....Hmmmmmm (I am gonna have to start taking requests I think)...I am gonna sing some Hank Williams Sr. because #1 I can and #2 a new reader hearts him and so do I and #3 the thought of going out in Minus 4 temps (not windchill) and shoveling even a dusting of snow makes me wanna cry a tear in my beer.....

There's a tear in my beer
Cause Im cryin for you,
Dear you are on my lonely mind.
Into these last nine beers
I have she'd a million tears.
You are on my lonely mind
Im gonna keep on sittin here
Until Im petriified.
And then maybe these tears
Will leave my eyes.
There's a tear in my beer
Cause Im crying for you, dear
You are on my lonely mind.

Last night I walked the floor
And the night before
You are on my lonely mind.
It seems my life is through
And Im so doggone blue
You are on my lonely mind.
Im gonna keep on sittin here
Till I can't move a toe
And then maybe my heart
Wont hurt me so.
There's a tear in my beer
Cause Im cryin for you, dear.
You are on my lonely mind.

Lord, Ive tried and Ive tried
But my tears I can't hide
You are (were? ) on my lonely mind.
All these blues that Ive found
Have really got me down
You are on my lonely mind
Im gonna keep on drinkin till I can't even think
Cause in the last week I aint slept a wink
There's a tear in my beer
Cause Im crying for you dear
You are on my lonely mind.

I just want to know....HOW

How does the windchill change by 70 degrees in 24 hours? How? Monday it was like 43. It felt like 43. Yesterday, the windchill....MINUS 30! How does that happen? Currently it is 18 below actual temp and the windchill is MINUS 40! So because its soooo cold the kids are on a 2 hour delay. So, we slept in. And while man child usually walks to school I will be driving him today. I am sure I will have to let the car warm up for like half an hour or something.

Yesterday, I spent all day at Archivers in the crop room. I had myself a grand ol time and got lots of scrappin done. I love it when that happens.

Today, I am feeling a little domestic. I don't know why. So I think I will be doing domestic things today - well not ALL day but until something else grabs my attention. I am certainly NOT going outside unless I have to.

Cheeky - who is trying to think warm thoughts - is singing a little Norah Jones today...Cold Cold Heart (Oh and did ya know Norah's version is a remake from Hank Williams??? - you didn't? Well, now ya do!)

I've tried so hard, my dear, to show that you're my every dream
Yet you're afraid each thing I do is just some evil scheme
A memory from your lonesome past keeps us so far apart
Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold cold heart?

Another love before my time made your heart sad and blue
And so my heart is payin' for things I didn't do
In anger, unkind words I say that make the teardrops start
Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold cold heart?

Another love before my time made your heart sad and blue
And now I know your heart is shackled to a memory
The more I learn to care for you, the more we drift apart
Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold cold heart?

Storms to the left....storms to the right ...and someone thinks I am nice

Yesterday was filled with storms in my neck of the woods. Some you could track coming and other that just popped up (mostly during rush hour - nice). Check this out. This pic was taken at approx 6:45 when it is still supposed to be daylight out.

And of course, our buddy Ian, was close to getting another email. Mr. Cheeky and I were eating dinner and watching the news which was pretty much all weather and I looked over at him and said...."you know your buddy Ian there needs an email, here is again breaking into another show (the news) to tell us a storm is a comin'". Mr. Cheeky almost spit his food out laughing.

Even though there were storms we were able to watch the first episode of Survivor. Few interesting characters there. Might be a decent season.

Now check this out....

"This award is for those bloggers who are nice people; good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world. Once you've been awarded please pass it on to 7 others who you feel are deserving of this award."

Jana over at Going Places seems to think I might be nice or something. Well how do you like that? I think she is pretty nice too.

Now I have to "pass it own" and so I shall (ya'll can probably figure out who I am gonna send it to):

Patti over there on my bloglist at PattiCake Land
Katie - or shall I say Agent M
My girl EA She is stampalicious
Jenie She can always make me smile
Shell She's nice in that special way..hehe
Julie - Who is managing to be nice while building a house - I would have already been over the edge and taken a few contractors with me
Wendy - I have met her IRL and she is just as nice in person as she is on her blog.

I love a rainy night......OR doncha just love email

First and foremost let me send a SHOUT OUT to my BIL Jeffro (ok so its just Jeff) cause its his BIRTHDAY!!!!!! WOOOT!!!! Your package is in the mail Uncle Paddytale***

OK so last night, in the middle of the FINAL episode of Hell's Kitchen...our local weather guy....Ian on Fox news, kept breaking in to tell us "the rains are a comin'....the rains are a comin'" (OK so it was a tornado warning....same thing). So, Mr. Cheeky and I decided that we were gonna have a little fun. We went on the news channel page and started sending some email.....cause you know its all anonymous and stuff...about how we were a little peeved that they interupted Rock's celebration to show me its gonna rain (but we made it much funnier you know cause its all anonymous and stuff)........HELLO...I have a window...I see the sky lit up like the freakin fourth of July (actually it was a good show, I sorta liked it) I know its gonna rain, I see the tree bent over in the front yard so yeah, I know the winds are a blowin.....you don't have to interrupt Hell's Kitchen to tell me what my own two eyes see. It was funny ya'll we were sending emails and being all redneck and stupid and laughing till we almost cried. Immature? ABSOLUTELY!!! Fun? OH you have NO IDEA. We even had a weather chick 1/4 mile from the house - we could almost see her (but of course a house was in the way). Yeah, we get our kicks from the stupidest of things.....actually. You know, when you submit your phone number for the local weatherman to call you - you have reached a plateau of redneckness that most only hope they will obtain. Wanna see an example of just ONE of the messages we sent.....

For your reading enjoyment:

ian.... dude.... you really need to call me.... 763******* (in the original of course the number was real) now dont sell my number and dont bother my wife.. if she answers just hang up (trust me you don't want to deal with her after the crappy day she has had). so call me and we will talk.....you my buddy and all but come on call me.. or something... you are very optimistic... please respond to my email so i can contact you directly .... here it is... ***@*** (yeah he put in our real email).... i'm in (our town)..... i promise i'm not drinking.. tonight........bye

i had a very crappy day until now(and for my wife - hers was even worse.... i know it is very sad... that a bad weather night entertains me and the missus and we know round 2 is going nail us... but...... what can i say.. you guys are the best.. if you want to send a news crew to interview me i'll do it ... just dont bother my wife... she aint from around here and she won't like it.......... just trust me.... i only gots one tooffs and its gold so make sure you can focus real good .... ok i'm done..... its up too you now.

****The name Uncle Paddytale comes from the teenage daughter. We were living in GA at the time and she was really young. My sister and her hubs (Jeff) came down for a visit and was taking the daughter out for dairy queen. It was chilly and I told her to wear a jacket, she didn't want to, I made her, she wasn't happy. So off she and Jeff go to the DQ. When they get back he tells how she didn't want to wear her jacket home. And so the daughter lovingly calls him Uncle Tattletale BUT she couldn't clearly say "tattletale" and it came out "Paddytale" and that is what he has been called ever since....hehe

I am utterly disgusted

With myself. I can't believe what I did this weekend. AND what's worse, not only did I do it once but I did it TWICE! I mean seriously, I can't believe I did it. So, I know you are asking yourself, "well what did she do?". To some of you, this may not be that big of a deal, to others, well you feel my pain. Let me explain.

Friday night, we went to a friend's house for a little grillin and chillin. It was a very nice day weather wise and so I wore jeans and a nice shirt. I opted for sneakers since my feet were not in the right condition for sandals. We got there and got settled and then it happened. I got cold. IN JULY! In the middle of the freakin summer I got cold! But here is the bad part, I put on a SWEATSHIRT! IN JULY!!! because I was COLD!! I mean I wasn't there an hour yet and I was cold. What kind of a weenie am I? This is just wrong on soooooo many levels.

On the way home, I stopped to get the teenage daughter and her friends. The book was released at midnight and she had gotten her book and was in the car and we were on the road at 12:08 - to too bad. I left the light on in the car so they could start reading right away. They read the first chapter and then someone on said, "oh this book is going to be sooo emotional" - that just cracks me up. They read until 5:30am (remember they had been up at the butt crack of dawn on Friday to get in line for their arm bands). Took a quick eating break (they are teenagers) then snoozed until 8. Got up and continued reading until the book was done! So when I asked who died the little snots said "we aren't telling you have to read it for yourself" - Niiiiiice.

Saturday night we headed back down to the same house as the night before to have a little more fun and watch the fireworks for the Aquatennial. The kids came along for this one. Teenage daughter slept in the back of the car until the food was ready. Then when she got up she proceeded to tell me what happened to who and who died. I am NOT gonna give you any spoilers but I will say when she told me about one of the characters that died I was a little sad - I liked that character.

We walked a couple of blocks from the house to where the fireworks were being held. They were not tooo shabby. Actually, they were good. Then we walked back to the house and sat by the fire. Yep, that's right - the FIRE all while wearing my SWEATER because I was COLD in the middle of JULY!!! TWO nights in a ROW!

Here are a few fire cracker pics....

Its a Freakin Heat Wave

OK don't laugh but yesterday it was in the lower 40's and it felt sooooo good. How good? So good that I actually opened up a window! Can you believe that crap?! I mean opening a window when the temp is in the 40's? How twisted is that?

Yesterday turned out to be a do nothing day for me and the kids and it was great. Today on the other hand is going to be really busy for me with work. I have lots of interviews scheduled and a meeting that usually lasts a minimum of an hour so yeah - lots of fun for me today...haha.

Couple of random things here:

Its time to get the nails done again (you know how I am about nails). They are getting too long and it makes it hard to type - well type fast - when they get too long. I am thinking I want to try another new color. Not sure what yet. The teenage daughter wants me to do green (?) I don't know why but I told her I think I may do that for St. Patty's day haha.

I have GOT to start going to the gym. This is no longer an option. I MUST GO. Today. or maybe tomorrow.

Looks like I am headed for another teeny bopper concert. Fallout Boy is headed to town and the teenager daughter and her friend want to go. Yep, I am taking them. Their last CD wasn't too bad so I think I can handle it (keeps me young right?).

Sylvester has started a new thing to wake me up. I have been ignoring his in my face screams in the morning. I just lay there perfectly still and ignore him. Now, he paws my head until I move and give him rubs. Seriously, he will paw my head (which reminds me, he needs a little kitty manicure too - his claws are too long to be pawing my head).

Cheeky - That's it - that is all I have today. I am feeling a little "sassy" so I need a good song to get my day started ...hmmmmm...so many to choose from....so why don't you suggest one???
