Wednesday, February 28, 2007Here we go againIf you are here for the AI review - sorry I just couldn't do it. I had a serious case of channel surfing last night. I did see a little of each one and I have to say Sundance is really leading the pack here. As for the title of this post, well starting this afternoon we are gonna get hit AGAIN with snow. At least as much if not MORE than we got over the weekend - oh joy. Can you just tell how thrilled I am? My back is just starting to feel better from having to shovel over the weekend. I am doing pretty good ya'll. I have been to the gym every day - let me say that again EVERY DAY (except Sunday but I shoveled so that totally counts) BUT with all that going to the gym the scales don't seem to be cooperating. Yes, I know I have to keep the eating in check and I have been. Seriously, there have been Oreos in this house since the weekend and I have not touched a single one - NOT ONE (and no not two or three either haha). Yesterday was the first day that I felt hungry - ok well not hungry but not satisfied. I need to look into that and maybe change things around a bit. I am not going to let it discourage me ....yet. Not much going on around Chez Cheeky these days. I did get the airline tickets for spring break - we are headed to the beach baby! Myrtle Beach that is! I also have been searching for cheap tickets for my next trip to C-town and I think I have found a deal so I may go ahead and get them. That's it - that's all I got! OH and in case you are wondering I AM smarter than a 5th grader! Tuesday, February 27, 2007The Communal BathroomI have forgotten what it is like to be in my bathroom alone. Whether I am brushing my teeth, washing my face, taking a shower/bath, or using the the throne I have company. And not just one but two. If I shut the door, one of them will open it (too smart for his own good) and the other one will sit there and bang on it until I can't take it and let her in (unless the first one has already opened it) Yes, I am speaking of no other than Sylvester and Kitty Girl. I never go to the bathroom alone because of them. Yesterday, I took a nice relaxing bath after my workout and who sat on the side of the tub and watched.....Sylvester! (Kitty Girl sat on the sink to supervise). It's sorta creepy having him sit there and watch your every move LOL. I was sooooo tempted to grab Sylvester and pull him in the tub but I knew while it would be completely hilarious, the overall result would not be pretty and I would have to clean it up. OK this may be a little TMI but one time while I was ummmmm taking care of business, Sylvester came and sat right on my lap. Hello!? Do I bother you when you jump in the litter box??? I think not! Labels: Kitty Monday, February 26, 2007Weekend UpdateSo here we are again another Monday. So what did I do this weekend? I watched it SNOW....all weekend.....well, ok all Saturday and parts of Sunday. We got a total of about 10-14 inches depending on where you are standing in the yard. There are some serious snow drifts (the wind was crazy). Our neighbor across the street had drifts that were well over 2 feet. We have a couple days to dig out and then we are getting more Wednesday/Thursday of this week. Friday: We did go to B-dubs after all and they were very slow on the wings (but man they were good). Trivia was hard. All this stuff about things that happened in February, who was born in February, this was signed in February...ick! I still did ok but I did a lot of guessing and so did most of the other people there I think. Saturday: The snow was coming down but the roads weren't terrible yet so we decided to go do a little shopping. Mr. Cheeky and the man child decided to get haircuts. Came home and even though the roads were starting to get a little hairy outside we went to a dinner party that was previously planned before we knew about the snow. Had a nice time. The kids had a nice time. The drive back was a little ugly. The wind had died down and the snow was starting to get pretty thick. Got back with no problems. The man child was introduced to WarCraft III at this gathering. I have all of the War Craft games but I haven't played them in a long time because I have been playing Diablo. Well of course as soon as we got back we had to install Warcraft on MY laptop for him to play. (why my laptop? because teenage daughters computers is OLDER than dirt and the house or family PC is the one I use to play Diablo - he can't be taking up MY playing time LOL). So, the man child and I played PC games all night. He sat beside me at my desk - it was a bonding moment LOL. Saturday night/Sunday morning: Ummm this was freaky ya'll I have NEVER EVER EVER heard of THIS before. I have heard of snow storms, and thunder storms with lighting but I never knew the two could be combined. Yep, that's right, I woke up to thunder and I saw lightning while it was snowing in the night. And NO I wasn't dreaming because the man child even came in the room and said "Mom did you hear that?". Weird! Sunday: Up early and guess what happened. Yep, it was time to dig out. Grabbed the shovels and out the door. Thank goodness men like their toys because once the neighbor across the street finished snow blowing his drive he came and did ours and he was grinning from ear to ear (ick Minnesotans and their love of snow...ick). BUT before he got there I did manage to pull my back and shoulder shoveling that heavy stuff. THEN no sooner than he plowed and everything was looking good....yep that's right, the city came and plowed the road and just where do you think it went...yep right back at the end of my drive!!!!! I went back out and shoveled a space big enough for Mr. Cheeky to get out of (he and the teenage daughter were going to the hockey game) then the neighbor came back and plowed the rest of it. The rest of the day was pretty lazy. Played some games, did some stuff around the house. Nothing major really. Monday: UP again at the butt crack of dawn. What for you ask? To go to the GYM! I have been every day except Sunday (and that is only because I considered shoveling that white crap exercise enough). I am doing good on staying motivated and if feeling better wasn't motivation enough, I stepped on the scales and I was not happy - not happy at all. All that hard work I did last spring was almost completely ruined but I am a stubborn cuss and I am gonna show that scale who is boss! Cheeky who in honor of going to the gym and hating every minute of it is singing a little Rodney Atkins: Well you know those times When you feel like there's a sign there on your back Say's I don't mind if ya kick me Seems like everybody has Things go from bad to worse You'd think they can't get worse than that And then they do You still walk the straight and narrow And you don't know where you are Use the needle of your compass To sew up your broken heart Ask directions from a genie In a bottle of Jim Beam And she lies to You That's when you learn the truth If you're going through hell Keep on going, Don't slow down If you're scared, don't show it You might get out Before the devil even knows you're there Well I been deep down in that darkness I been down to my last match Felt a hundred different demons Breathing fire down my back And I knew that if I stumbled I'd fall right into the trap that they were laying, Yeah But the good news Is there's angels everywhere out on the street Holding out a hand to pull you back upon your feet The one's that you been dragging for so long You're on your knees You might as well be free Guess what I'm saying If you're going through hell Keep on going, Don't slow down If you're scared, don't show it You might get out Before the devil even knows you're there Yeah, If you're going through hell Keep on moving, Face that fire Walk right through it You might get out Before the devil even knows you're there If you're going through hell Keep on going, Don't slow down If you're scared, don't show it You might get out Before the devil even knows you're there Yeah, If you're going through hell Keep on moving, Face that fire Walk right through it You might get out Before the devil even knows you're there Yeah you might get out Before the devil even knows you're there Friday, February 23, 2007I am an idiotOK I have been to the gym 2 days in a row now and I am going again today. Problem is - I am an IDIOT! Remember last spring/summer I was walking/running outside and developed a massive blister? (This should refresh your memory) Well, guess what...I have another one....geesh! Not quite as massive but still. Its just my body's way of saying no no no don't do this anymore...well I am more stubborn than that! I am gonna work through the pain dangit! Teenage daughter picked the wrong weekend to go rolling yards. It is supposed to start snowing this afternoon/evening and go through the weekend so ummmm she may need to rethink things (plus she is not prepared, hasn't scoped things out, hasn't gotten the necessary supplies, etc) - she is still an amateur...hehe. Not sure if I am heading to B-dubs tonight or not. Mr. Cheeky may have other plans I am not sure yet. I do know that he wants to paint the man child's bedroom - ummmm I am not so sure about that....I mean - lets not get ridiculous here. Had an OK week but really missing my SC buds. Ever since I was slapped in the face by reality last weekend I can't seem to shake a funk that has come over me. I am hoping its just the PMDD (you know PMS on overdrive) acting up. I mean I should be over all this by now don't ya think? I was gonna play SPF today but my Friday started out kinda crazy which is why I am just not getting to the point where I can post (and its mid afternoon already). Thursday, February 22, 2007More random junk and AI - the girly reviewAlright ya'll I did it. My cable went out early this morning which meant I had no internet and so after I did some interviews I just decided to bite the bullet and do it. This girl got off her lazy bootay and went to the gym. I know I know I can't believe it either. And I am thinking I might do it again tomorrow (am I sick or what?). Oh and so much for the heatwave - we are expected to get the largest snow storm of the season this weekend...Oh joy. Tonight is the girl's turn at the mic and well let me just give you the run down including the hooky potential. First of all too much chatter at the beginning - its a 2 hour show lets move on with it. Ryan - shut up. First up - Stephanie - Umm I don't think I know this song....(shocking I know) You have potential honey, I like your style but I am not sold that you can handle different genres. But yep not a bad way to start the show. Hooky potential is low. I think you will keep your respect. Randy - yep I agree. Paula - had your coffee before the show didn't ya?? Simon - yep I agree again tonight. Amy - I can't make you love me Wasn't thrilled with your auditions. Bonnie Raitt you are NOT. Your hooky potential is pretty high. I think you will need it if you want to go very far in this show honey. Even Mr. Cheeky said and I quote "terrible". Randy - yep boring not good and she ain't that soulfull. Paula - get your own opinion for once please. Simon - agree agree agree. Ryan SHUT UP! Leslie - You make me feel like a natural woman You might wanna keep walking the dogs but I can be open minded. Ummm honey - no no no but you are kinda cute. Hooky potential is medium to low (sorta hard to get a read on you at this point). Mr. Cheeky said and I quote "well I feel nauseous". Randy I agree just eh. Paula - awww we don't care what you think. Simon yep Sabrina - what did you sing? Yeah there is some potential there. Again I am not sure about different genres but time will tell Next girl Atonella - yeah you have high hooky potential but no you ain't going far. Can't say much about you cause I had to take a potty break....(tmi?) Jordin - Give me one reason Oh honey I like you and you did Tracy Chapman proud. Yep I really do like you. There is something there. Randy - yep. Paula is anyone listening to you? Simon - yes I agree she will surprise someone....and at 17. Yep you are gonna do well. Nicole You are NOT Erykha Badu! Check the ethnicity honey. Hooky potential with you is off the charts honey. Off the charts. There is a hooky in there just busting to get out. Randy yep - Paula honey lay off the juice! Simon - agree Haley - All comimg back to me This song is only going to carry you so far honey. Its a good one for ya but you need to move on mmmmkay? And next time give me a little more emotion and not just the words mmmmkay? And yeah you have a high to medium hooky potential. Randy - yep just OK. Paula - QUIT SLURRING YOUR WORDS Simon - sounded 40 LMAO! Melinda - Oh honey I liked you before you even opened your mouth. Oh yeah honey you are a front runner - I think you have some talent and ummm hookey potential is the lowest of the group - your voice speaks for itself - you have class honey. Randy she was the Bomb wasn't she? Simon - Totally totally AGREE! Alaina - Oh honey please please please shut up!! Just go ahead and pack your bags now. That was awful. If you would have saw you fellow competitors while singing you would know that. And you tried the hooky moves and it didn't work at all! Randy just say it like it is - she sucked. Paula we don't care... Simon oh yeah you are the man! She ain't special at all. Ryan shut up you just want to do her. I agree with Simon she can join Passion Idol next time. Oh Simon I love that comment about Ryan wanting to date her. Oh I loved it! Gina - All by myself I liked this - I really did. I see some originality in you and I think your hooky potential is low. For some reason when I see you I think of Pink who I just think is the BOMB baby! Randy - yep I am glad you were surprised. Simon I am not sure I agreed with you on this one. Lakisha I liked you going into this. Loved you like Melinda. Oh honey you can really belt it out. Good way to end the show. Again, you have some talent and its not about being a hooky. Its about the music. Randy - Amen brother! Simon - Amen again! Well that's it ya'll my take on the girls of this competition. Did ya watch? Did ya vote? Now unless the results show is on after Survivor and CSI I might miss it tomorrow...maybe....might tune in just at the end.... Wednesday, February 21, 2007Need an Opinion and AI recapFirst the opinion: The teenage daughter and her friend came to me yesterday with a question and I am not sure how to answer it. Its something that I used to do at her age and quite frankly there are worse things that she could be doing. In the scheme of things its not horrible (yeah it can be pretty fun). And she wants to know if I will "let" her do it (I am really glad that she asked before just doing - I may complain about the kids sometimes but I do have some pretty good kiddos). What is it she wants to do you say???....Rolling yards (or TP-ing for you non southerners). Now don't give me the whole its vandalism crap. Its toilet paper (no eggs, no paint, no messing with cars, none of that crap - just toilet paper) and its biodegradable. Yeah, it may look like hell for a while but nothing major and nothing permanent and yes it may be a nuisance. As a teenager, there was a group of us that would go out after the football games and get the target of the week. We were proud that we were one of the only successful groups to get one of our favorite teacher's yard (he always bragged about how it couldn't be done and yeah we confessed to him just before graduation and he laughed). BUT the social climate has changed a bit since our day and I don't know how people will react to it up here in the frozen tundra. If it happened to me, I would be like "Well Crap!" and make the teenage daughter clean it up cause it would have been one of her friends doing it. She hasn't asked Mr. Cheeky yet - ummm she wants to catch him in a good mood LOL. So....what do you think? Seriously, don't sugar coat it - give it to me straight. Conversation last night with the man child as I was laying bed watching TV before falling asleep and he came in to "check on me": Man Child: I am sad Cheeky: Why are you sad? Man Child: well, I am sad for you Cheeky: Why are you sad for me? Man Child: Because you have to lay here and listen to him snore all night. Yep - that's my boy! Okay - Now its time for my American Idol recap. First up: Rudy - Free Ride Dude just go home now. Seriously just go home. Randy and Simon were right on, Paula drink more of what is in that cup honey. Next: Brandon - Rock with you Had high hopes for ya dude. You are good but I am not 100% sold yet. I did wanna go put on my silver sequined jump suit and dance though...hehe. I think you are safe for this week. Randy - agree not the best but OK. Paula you are gonna start slurring your words any minute. Simon - yep you said it - better than the performance you gave. Sundance - Nights in White Satin High expectations (love the blue eyes too dude). Still a little nasally dude. I like you, I really do but you needed to rock out tonight and that just did not happen. Randy - I agree, pitchy. Paula - was that coherence that came out your mouth honey? Simon - yep I am scared - I am agreeing so far. Paul - (with your lucky skivvies and bare feet) - Careless Whisper OK you are one of my favs dude but what is up with all this slow groove stuff tonight. I was however singing back up for ya. We can be a team dude - seriously, gimme a call I am in the book. Randy - agree, yep agree - great potential. Paula - hold your head up when you talk sweetie. You just wanna do him come on admit it. Simon - yeah he needs to bring it a little more (not sure it was 3rd rate though) and quit playing it safe. Ryan - dude, put your shoes back on - yo feet stank! I don't care if you had a pedi...it don't work for you. Chris R. - I don't wanna be Bad choice babe, bad choice. Randy - eh. Paula - no words. Simon - yeah I agree again. But I was being hand fed a little sushi so ummm I could have been distracted a little - yeah that's it, I was distracted. Ryan hush this is the only website that matters dude. Nick - Now and Forever Richard Marx you are NOT. Sorry to break it to you. Not doin it for me dude, not doing it for me (gonna eat another piece of sushi now). Randy - yep, the truth is good. Paula - did you say something? Simon - honey quit drinkin Paula's drink mmmkay? Blake - What is the name of this song?? (need to lay off the sushi LOL) Liked you going into this hon. You have potential, I still like you. Yep, still like you. Judges- yep yep yep Sanjaya - Something about your love Yeah I liked you in the auditions hon. You remind me of a friend of mine. Really you do. And yeah, I still like you. Randy - yeah Stevie songs are hard but it wasn't THAT bad. Paula - lets talk about the music honey mmkay? Simon - not THAT dreary but yeah he could add a little excitement. Chris S. (from SC - oh yeah baby!)Typical I like you dude! Oh yeah you are a front runner! GREAT song choice for you. Randy - agree. Paula - get your own opinion. Simon - ok you are torn - its ok it happens. Oh and Chris ooohhh you got Simon good - really, but I am not sure that was a good move though. Jared - Back at One Yeah, dude you were pretty good. I am not sure how you will do with other genres but I am open minded here. I can still be bought. Randy agree - didn't like the ending. Paula - you just want him to shake his booty. Simon - nasally? I don't know if I agree there but overall agree with your comments. AJ - Never too Much Five times trying out and ummm finally a little funk in the show. Liked it. Yeah, I liked it a lot. Randy - yeah he was having fun. Paula - refill your cup honey. Simon - it was good. Theme park? Hmmmmm..... Phil (my little bald buddy) - I could not ask for more Oh honey - sorry dude it wasn't workin for me in the beginning but you recovered nicely. Randy - best of the night - perhaps. Paula - do you ever have your own opinion? Simon - monstrous hehe that is funny. So there it is - my recap of the fellas. Did you watch? Did you vote? Tomorrow its the girlys - and which one will emerge as the hooky extraordinaire??? Only time will tell. Tuesday, February 20, 2007You MustSee THIS JUST.DO.IT OK don't laugh but yesterday it was in the lower 40's and it felt sooooo good. How good? So good that I actually opened up a window! Can you believe that crap?! I mean opening a window when the temp is in the 40's? How twisted is that? Yesterday turned out to be a do nothing day for me and the kids and it was great. Today on the other hand is going to be really busy for me with work. I have lots of interviews scheduled and a meeting that usually lasts a minimum of an hour so yeah - lots of fun for me today...haha. Couple of random things here: Its time to get the nails done again (you know how I am about nails). They are getting too long and it makes it hard to type - well type fast - when they get too long. I am thinking I want to try another new color. Not sure what yet. The teenage daughter wants me to do green (?) I don't know why but I told her I think I may do that for St. Patty's day haha. I have GOT to start going to the gym. This is no longer an option. I MUST GO. Today. or maybe tomorrow. Looks like I am headed for another teeny bopper concert. Fallout Boy is headed to town and the teenager daughter and her friend want to go. Yep, I am taking them. Their last CD wasn't too bad so I think I can handle it (keeps me young right?). Sylvester has started a new thing to wake me up. I have been ignoring his in my face screams in the morning. I just lay there perfectly still and ignore him. Now, he paws my head until I move and give him rubs. Seriously, he will paw my head (which reminds me, he needs a little kitty manicure too - his claws are too long to be pawing my head). Cheeky - That's it - that is all I have today. I am feeling a little "sassy" so I need a good song to get my day started ...hmmmmm...so many to choose from....so why don't you suggest one??? Monday, February 19, 2007Weekend in ReviewYa'll I was busy this weekend so why don't ya grab yourself something to drink and sit a spell while I lay it all out for ya. Friday night - it was B-dubs night. Went a little earlier than usual but that is cool. Met a really nice couple. Actually, the guy works with Mr. Cheeky and they live fairly close to us (they live down in Maple Grove). They are fairly similar to us actually which is nice. Let me break it down for ya: Them Moved here Dec 06 In culture shock Has 3 kids (8,9,14) She is a SAHM Us Moved here in Dec 05 Still recovering from culture shock Has kids (8,14) I am a work from home mom And are ya'll ready for this??? They were NOT afraid to play trivia with me....let me repeat...they were NOT afraid to play trivia with me. That in and of itself spoke volumes to me. As a matter of fact the guy told me he had heard about my ability and he still wasn't scared off. Now, if only she was a scrapper I would be a happy camper LOL (well can't have it all can ya?). Saturday: Headed out to Coon Rapids for a little shopping. Needed some supplies from Archivers and Michaels. Saw the "hot now" sign at the Krispy Kreme and I HAD to stop in...ya'll that is pure HEAVEN. All hot and soft and melt in your mouth good. While out shopping, Mr. Cheeky and I got a wild hair up our butts and started looking at paint (didn't I say I wasn't ever gonna paint again?). Decided we would do the bathroom, it is small (like really really small for a master bath - the south has much larger bedrooms and bathrooms but I digress...). So we found a cool color and since we had a wild hair why not make it completely crazy and do a faux finish. Decisions decisions. Went back home and tried to nap but it wasn't happening so I went down stairs and played in my craft room. Got up and made a big ol bowl of guacamole (my guac rocks ya'll) for a mexican themed dinner party. Then, there was an incident with the man child and the little heathens that live in this neighborhood which gave me a serious dose of reality - actually reality slapped me right up side the face without a glove(I will talk about it later - I am in a good mood and I really don't want to get myself upset right now). So, we thought it best not to go to the dinner party and instead decided to do something with the kids. What did we do? Well, we went to see Ghost Rider. It was playing on the Monster screen at the theather. LOVED.IT. Seriously, ya'll....LOVED.IT. And I love that it left it open for a second one and seeing as how it made some mooolah at the box office this weekend I am hoping they will make another one. Sunday: Got up and had breakfast before the man child's hockey game. Got there and the doors were locked. Huh? Lights were out. Did they cancel? Went home and looked at the schedule and realized that we were an hour early...d'oh! So we hung out a while an then back to the game. Man child did really really good. Came home - scarfed down a sammich and then Mr. Cheeky went out to get the paint while I prepped. Yep, we decided to go for it. Faux finish and all. It took a really really looooooooooong time to do that room. Seriously, you have to work in sections and then let it set up then go over it with a tool. This is the before shot - don't you just LOVE that shower curtain? hehe This is the work in progress.....it took a long time to get to that point... Kitty girl climbed the ladder to supervise my work... I had to use the ladder so she sat on the other throne to supervise... This is the back wall as it is drying. Still need to touch up the corner and along the shower but its coming along.... This is a close up of the wall - sorry its blurry but I was tired...haha It takes time but ya'll, and I am not just saying this cause I did it, but I think it looks snazzy! Not bad at all for the first journey into the faux finish land. We completed 3 of 4 walls and decided to call it a night (we started as Kelly Clarkson was singing before the Daytona 500 and didn't finish until the end of Family Guy - so yeah it was ALL DAY). Most likely will finish the other wall and do a little touch up sometime this week. After we got everything cleaned up, I was whipped. All that stretching and reaching and painting really took it out of me. Laid down to watch American Dad and the man child wanted to watch a movie so he went and got Madagascar and crawled in the bed in my room - I was snoozing before they hit "the wild". I slept really hard too - you know, one of those dead to the world, sleep all night sleeps. Which brings us to today. Monday. Up earlier than I wanted considering its a holiday and I don't have to work and the kids are out of school (yeah its the cats fault again) but its OK. Not real sure what we are gonna do today, we might go shopping, we might hang out here, we might go to the movies - its just one of those kinda do what ya wanna do kind of days. Cheeky - who is still thinking about Ghost Rider and will probably have the teenage daughter pimp out Cheeky's myspace with a flamin' skull and who is thinking of going to see it again is singing....... An old cowpoke went ridin' out one dark and windy day, Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw Come rushin' through the ragged skies and up a cloudy draw. Yipie i ay Yipie i oh Ghost riders in the sky Their brands were still on fire and their hooves were made of steel Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath you could feel A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky He saw the riders coming hard... and he heard their mournful cry Yipie i ay Yipie i oh Ghost riders in the sky. Their face is gaunt their eyes were blurred their shirts all soaked with sweat They're ridin' hard to catch that herd but they 'aint caught 'em yet 'cause they've got to ride forever in the range up in the sky On horses snorting fire as they ride hard hear them cry Yipie i ay Yipie i oh Ghost riders in the sky. The riders leaned on by him he heard one call his name If you want to save your soul from hell a riding on our range Then cow-boy change your ways today or with us you will ride Tryin' to catch this devil herd.... a-cross these endless skies. Yipie i ay Yipie i oh Ghost riders in the sky. Ghost riders in the sky. Ghost riders in the sky. Labels: Kitty, Weekend Update Thursday, February 15, 2007Tag you are it! No, wait. That should be Tag I am it!Yep, yours truly got tagged by Jenn so what do you do when your it? Play along and tag somebody else bwahahaha..... First the rules: The game: Each player of this game starts off with ten weird things or habits or little known facts about themselves. People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own ten weird things or habits or little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you must choose six people to be tagged and list their names. No tag backs! #1 It has been rumored that I first met Mr. Cheeky when I was 4 years old when we were taking swimming lessons. #2 I have always wanted to be a red head - dunno why - so stop asking mmmkay? #3 I like sending people stuff in the mail for no reason at all....AND I like getting stuff too....so ummm take the hint dangit! #4 I like musicals (duh!) but I tend to remember the songs and then go around singing them all the time like "attaaaaack of the killer tomatoes....attaaaaack of the killer tomatooooes" hehe (OR like the one I am gonna sing at the end of this post) #5 Similar to Jenn I was the only girl at a boys b-day party in the 7th grade. Not that I was the only one invited just the only one to show up. It was a swimming party and yeah - I had lots of friends that night LOL #6 I LOVE BEER! Been drinking it since I was like 4 of 5 (shhhh don't tell). #7 I love rings. I was the girl in highschool that had rings for every finger. I don't wear that many now but its not cause I don't wanna.....small and petite is good sometimes but sometimes you just have to go for the gawdy stuff too...hehe #8 Oprah can get on my last nerve but I still watch it....its kinda like crack. #9 I get a kick of the man child calling me woman. As in, "I said now woman!" It cracks me up. Of course he is kidding around and I kid around with him right back but it still cracks me up. #10 I have an addictive personality....well lets just say I can get passionate (read obsessive haha) about things. OK that's it - now who to tag that I think will do this...hmmmmm I am gonna tag Patti again because Jenn tagged her and she didn't do it today...some excuse about moving into a new house or something like that (just teasing - we are excited for ya). Then there Jen (not a tag back) my girl in Indy. Ummm Jana your turn girl. Shell -yep you too (I know I know I will be waking up with my bra in the freezer or something like that for doing this to ya). And last but definitely not least ICL! Collards is green My dog's name is Blue And I'm so lucky to have A sweet thang like you. Yore hair is like cornsilk A-flapping in the breeze Softer than Blue's And without all them fleas. You move like the bass, Which excite me in May. You ain't got no scales But I luv you anyway. Yo're as satisfy'n as okry Jist a-fry'n in the pan. Yo're as fragrant as "snuff" Right out of the can. You have som'a yore teeth, For which I am proud; I hold my head high When we're in a crowd. On special occasions, When you shave under yore arms, Well, I'm in hawg heaven, And awed by yore charms. Still them fellers at work, They all want to know, What I did to deserve Such a purdy, young doe. Like a good roll of duct tape Yo're there fer yore man, To patch up life's troubles And fix what you can. Yo're as cute as a junebug A-buzzin' overhead. You ain't mean like those far ants I found in my bed. Cut from the best cloth Like a plaid flannel shirt, You spark up my life More than a fresh load of dirt. When you hold me real tight Like a padded gunrack, My life is complete; Ain't nuttin' I lack. Yore complexion, it's perfection, Like the best vinyl sidin'. Despite all the years, Yore age, it keeps hidin'. Me 'n' you's like a Moon Pie With a RC cold drank, We go together Like a skunk goes with stank. Some men, they buy chocolate For Valentine's Day; They git it at Wal-Mart, it's romantic that way. Some men git roses On that special day From the cooler at Kroger. "That's impressive," I say. Some men buy fine diamonds From a flea market booth. "Diamonds are forever," They explain, suave and couth. But for this man, honey, these won't do. Cause yo're too special, you sweet thang you. I got you a gift, without taste nor odor, More useful than diamonds... IT'S A NEW TROLLIN' MOTOR!! Last night I took the teenage daughter to see John Mayer. It was an OK show. I think she enjoyed it more than I did but that is cool - it was her Balletine gift from me. I have some pics but I am not awake enough to go get the camera and download them and then upload them - too much loading for this early. This morning as I was waking the man child for school, I gave him a snuggle and told him Happy Valentine's Day. Man Child: there are two that want to be my "real" valentine. Cheeky: Oh yeah? Who? Man Child: Britney and Alise Cheeky: Do you like them? Man Child: only as friends..... This conversation cracks me up for some reason, a little 8 year old with admirers ...hehe Cheeky who in honor of heart day is singing......(and you know you wanna sing with me....) And Love Won't hurt anymore, It's an open smile, On a friendly shore. it's Love Welcome aboard it's love Monday, February 12, 2007Weekend UpdateSo, Friday nite we headed to B-dubs for some trivia. Yes, ICL its a local place - actually its a chain. We had to wait for a table which meant that we were late for happy hour (bummer). Did pretty well with trivia but on the last game the little game set started losing its juice. Got home fairly early and just vegged. We watched Back to the Future III (I heart all 3 of those movies). Saturday - there was no sleeping in for me, thanks to Sylvester (I swear I am gonna sleep with the camera and record his big mouth for ya'll one day). So I was up at 7AM while the rest of the house slept. I decided to make the most of it and scrubbed the stove top (its real white and purty now), counter tops and microwave. Then everyone got up. The man child had hockey practice and I had errands so we were all off. Then, Mr. Cheeky took the kids to the park skating/sledding and I stayed home and scrapped a little. It was nice. Later on, we went to an early movie to see Hannibal Rising while the kids went to see Happy Feet. OK here is the deal, the movie for Hannibal left out soooooo much and changed some things completely (like his Uncle), I am not sure why because it wouldn't have taken much to add it to the story. Anyway, if you haven't read the book, you MUST even if you see the movie first. The book was really really good. Got home and watched the Budweiser shootout (Daytona is next week ya'll - can't you hear the rednecks now???). Just in case you were wondering, Tony Stewart won again. Sunday, up at the butt crack of dawn again, not because of the cat but because the man child had a hockey game at 7:30am. This week he was the goalie. He actually did much better in that position that I expected him to do. Got home and it was clean clean clean. Scrubed my bathroom and the man child's bathroom. Mr. Cheeky cleaned out the bathroom closet and the linen closet. We threw away quite a bit of crap! Then it was downstairs to the kitchen and scrubbing the hardwood floor - OK Mr. Cheeky scrubbed the floor but I prepped it :) We cleaned until ummm 1:30ish and then went to the outlets. I got a new pair of Saucony shoes cause I need to start moving this bootay and now I have no excuse except that it is freakin COLD! Actually today it was like 22 and that felt sorta nice...how bizarre is that?! Next weekend we may get into the 30's - time to get the sandals out...(yeah I know, that is just wrong). Came home and had dinner and sorta vegged again. So that was my weekend. What did you do? Cheeky who in honor of the new episode of Family Guy last night(that show cracks me up) is singing..... What would you say if I told you I've always wanted to hold you? I don't know what we're afraid of Nothing would change if we made love 'cause I'll be your friend And I'll be your lover Well, I know in our hearts we agree We don't have to be one or the other Labels: Weekend Update Friday, February 09, 2007Cheeky's return to SPF and other random stuffI haven't played SPF in ages and I think its about time I got off my lazy butt and did something about it. Don't know what SPF is?? Well, you should! Head on over to Kristine's and check it out! Today's subject....something red! I have lots of red things, handbags, ruby rings (I heart rubies and diamonds), and even just sitting here at my desk I see lots of red stuff but today I give you this..... Yep, I got my nails done yesterday and in honor of Valentine's Day next week I got the new color from OPI Red Like Roses! I never wear red. I usually wear a deep burgandy. But the more I look at it, I kinda like it (the picture doesn't show just how nice the color is). So, did ya play?? Tell me did ya? Huh? I wanna see..... OK on to other things. Blogger FORCED me to switch to the new blogger. I want to change in my own time on my own terms. I don't like being forced into anything. That being said, so far so good (knocking on wood here). The blog seems to be ok but now I have have to learn the new little tricks. We don't have any "official" plans for the weekend. We are all worn out so its gonna be one of those lay around kinda weekends and if we feel like doing something then we will and if we don't well then....we won't. BUT we are going to play some trivia tonight at B-dubs! Thursday, February 08, 2007It's all goooooodYesterday I read 4 posts about dentists - what is up with that?? The man child's appt went pretty well. They basically took care of everything right then and there and so we don't have to go back until its time for his cleaning again. They did have to cut out the old spacer and replaced it with a better one that sits higher up so the gums won't grow over it. The man child did GREAT (he is so much better at the dentist than I am). We ended up spending all morning there so by the time we got back, he had already missed lunch at school and he was still numb so he couldn't eat so I just decided to let him take the rest of the day off and hang out with mom. I have to do those sorts of things now cause it won't be much longer and he will not want to hang out with ol' mom. Sylvester is driving me nuts - waking me up in the mornings. I am gonna have to start kicking him out of the room pretty soon. I know he thinks he is doing the right thing by getting me up (you know cause its time to get up) but dangit he is NOT a rooster....if I wanted and animal to get up I would have gotten a rooster! I am ready for the weekend. I have been going through scrapping withdrawals and I am ready to spend some quality time down in my room playing. I have some great pics from when my sis was here and I want to get those pages done. OH and I have been at it again, I made Valentine's cards this year. Its a simple design. I have a few more to get finished and then they will be in the mail by Saturday. Yeah, that's it again. Man, I have become BORING! Wednesday, February 07, 2007Back in the routine of thingsWell I think I am finally settled back in to my regular routine of running around like a chicken with her head cut off (wait - that would be a hen wouldn't it?). Its been two weeks (first Charleston then family visiting) so its about time. Yesterday, was a serious kick butt and take names kinda day for work. I was all over it and I think at least one of the candidates is a HIRE! (positive thinking here....) and at least 2 more are potentials. This is good news. We need 3 more to make our goal for the quarter. I think you have heard me say before we are picky picky picky...but we rarely make hiring mistakes so in the long run it worth it. Today, its an early morning appt for the man child. He may need some gum surgery. We will find out this morning. When he was 4 he had an abcess in one of his back molars so the dentist said just go ahead and remove it (don't ask me which one - its the one that is now missing mmmkay?). So after he healed from that, they put a band on one of his other molars (I said don't ask which one, its the one beside the one that is missing...geesh) with a metal spacer that went across where the missing tooth should be so his teeth wouldn't move together as he grows and cause later problems. Well, problem is now, that his gums have grown over the spacer and the regular dentist thinks that it is broken underneath (hmmm wonder if that is why he was complaing that it was hurting a couple months ago????). So off we go to the pediatric dentist to get our evaluation and see what needs to be done. If its surgery, it should be fairly minor (positive thinking people....). Yeah that's all I got today.....work and dentist stories - I am a barrel of fun! OH but I did watch Idol last night (and I sang along..hehe). I think the cousins set the judges up. The first one knew he sucked so the second one would sound better (but he wasn't half bad). Cheeky - who is gonna go sing in the man childs ear and wake him up cause we gotta get moving to make it on time...... Tuesday, February 06, 2007Been MIASo Shell tells me that she is tired of reading about my boobies and so I need to get my butt in gear and update. OK so I am paraphrasing but you get the point. Had a really great time with my sis (I am tired of typing sis so for this post it will D) and bil (and for this post he will be J). We went to the Winter Carnival - AND FROZE like idiots. We didn't stay long at all - I am not kidding. My fingers were in agony trying to get these photos for ya'll. The things I do for ya'll my fellow bloggers. You will have to see them over there in flikr...see the little box?? Just click it. (cause blogger is acting up) We went to the Casino on Friday cause it was entirely too cold to even think about doing ANYTHING outside. How cold? Wind chill was MINUS 30 to 40. I kid you not and it stayed that way ALL WEEKEND. Oh no, I didn't win anything but me and Mr. Cheeky were the youngest people in the matinee Bingo...haha! Saturday we went to the Arenacross. It was pretty fun. I was impressed with what those guys could do with those bikes in such a small area. Again the pics will be over there....in flikr....didn't I tell you that already? Sunday was of course eating too much food and watching the game in between playing cards. The best quote of the night came from J he said after taking a bite of my hot wings(and this is a quote)"B-dubs ain't got nothin' on you"! Awww...how nice. Now ya'll I can cook but D can seriously cook so hearing that from her hubby was definately a compliment. Yesterday, it was up early, droe the man child to school cause the temp (not wind chill) was MINUS 21 so I wasn't gonna make him walk, and then take D&J to the airport. Then came back and had lots of work to get done. Overall, I had a really great time visiting with them and I am really glad they came. Cheeky - who in honor of his royal purpleness on Sunday is singing (cause I have been singing this since I saw it and can't stop).... Hey, look me over Tell me do u like what u see? Hey, i ain't got no money But honey i'm rich on personality Hey, check it all out Baby i know what it's all about Before the night is through U will see my point of view Even if i have 2 scream and shout Baby i'm a (star) Might not know it now Baby but i r, i'm a (star) I don't want to stop, 'til i reach the top Sing it (we are all a star!)
